I was really excited to try this place out! My go to is always Alpaca and this doesn't compare to it at all. The chicken doesn't have much flavor and it was SMALL. The sauces they have weren't what I expected. Also, bad customer service which is a big NO for me. The only thing I honestly liked were the beans. I don't think I will be back here again.

I don’t like being asked for a tip before any food or service are given. Then when your food is brought to your table, things are forgotten, because they already got their tip and don’t care.

One of the best restaurants I've tried around Durham. I've tried them at least 5 times already and I was a happy customer every time. What keeps me coming back is the chicken: it's always moist, juicy and full of flavor. Yes, even the white meat. I don't normally review, but they definitely got this one. 5/5

This was our first time and didn't know what to order. Everything looked so good and fresh. The service was fantastic. They helped us decide. I tried the cow heart. It was amazing... Like a tender steak. The sixers they use are so tasty. My husband had the 1/4 chicken plus 2 sides. Our portions were enormous! They even let us taste the side before we ordered. They were just so sweet!! Restaurant was clean. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend.

Visited about 2 weeks ago and OMG!! The 1/4 baked chicken with black beans and rice and fries are all delicious. AND THE CHICKEN IS REAL CHICKEN!! AND SEASONED... VERY WELL!! The wait time? Ain't no wait time!! They literally have your order ready within 3 mins. The atmosphere is so soothing. I recommend going on a week day during lunch hours. My anxiety paired perfectly with this restaurant! Did I mention the staff? Shorty behind the register was so nice and kept checking to see if I needed anything.

So I usually go to Alpaca when I want Peruvian chicken. But I saw this place and it had good reviews so I figured I would give it a chance. Big mistake! It is nothing like Alpaca. For one the chicken is tiny, and it has different seasonings on it that don't taste as good. Second of all they're fries aren't anywhere near as good as alpacas, they just use generic frozen french fries here. Also instead of having self-serve sauces, they give you this little thimble size container. I probably would not come back to this place or recommend it when Alpaca is so much better and the same price.

I came today to Canastas Chicken, and as a Peruvian, I can say that I finally found a delicious, quality Peruvian restaurant. I ate Heart Anticuchos and Ceviche after a long time. The flavor was perfect and the seasoning on its point. The Alfajores and Tres Leches are the best I have ever tried. The variety in the menu and excellent cuisine of Canastas Chicken make it an excellent place to go to eat and leave full and satisfied. The atmosphere is pleasant and clean. The attention of Nelson Sanches and Neider was excellent, friendly, and always attentive, making sure we were not missing anything. I'm proud that Canastas Chicken has opened in Durham and that they are introducing to Raleigh some of the delicious and unique food that Peruvian cuisine has to offer. We will be back soon!
