BUYER BEWARE….It has probably been two years since I stopped at this Captain D’s. I was in the area and in the past they have always been known to have good food made to order but only this day in my opinion it was some of the worst fish and chicken, hush puppies, and corn, I have ever purchased at this location. I don’t know what is happening, but the taste and the quality of the food has really changed. I’m not from this area and by the time I was able to taste I was too far down the road going 64 E. in afternoon traffic to turn around and take this back I was so disappointed and angry and didn’t even call the manager, which is totally out of my character. Wasted my hard earned money on some takeout food and I was so disappointed. I have told several people about this encounter I just wish I had Told the establishment on that day, but I was so upset that I may not have used or been in good character. Had I spoken with someone at captain D’s

This particular location has gone way down in service. I used visit often and was delighted to see the owner in the back. This time I walked in and the folks on the counter had music blasting. The lady on register was standing at the back counter face in her phone. No one acknowledged the only customer in the building. Then when she finished her game she stepped up and asked was I ready to order. Don't get me started on the cook and her cussing at each other. Terrible service!

I came in to order, and a worker told another worker not to take my order because there was a problem with the previous order with another customer. So I take a seat while waiting and three other customers walked in and that lady took their right in front of me. That was pure disrespect and I will never come to this restaurant again.

Couldn't order online, because location isn't listed on Capt D's website. Drive through menu board wasn't lit up, so unable to read it in the dark. Fries were stale and chewy, cook had long braids but wasn't wearing a hair net, which is just plain gross.

Great fish. I've always enjoyed Captain D's. I hadn't been for quite a while. Looks like they don't have salads anymore. Their tartar sauce recipe must have changed as I no longer think it is better than homemade. I see that they have catfish now, and I'm looking forward to trying that next time. This location was clean inside and out and I will be back!
The fried okra were delicious! They were lightly battered and fried crisply. No too hard. The okra were so good that I went back the next day

I don't know what it is about this particular captain D's in durham but this is the worst one of them all. Every time I get food from here it tastes like the grease hasn't been changed in months. Also the last time I came in it was through the drive thru. They had forgotten my condiments with my food. I'm on crutches so I hop in there to go collect what was missing from my order. The cashier in the dining room at the time didn't have a good attitude. She barely wanted to help me out when I told her I just came from the drive thru. She was very quick to dismiss me. Then I told her I only came in to get condiments. She hands me the items and says to me "you walked all the way in here for that?". Instead of saying sorry sir for the inconvenience. I thought this was rude and unprofessional.

I've ordered from this location about 3 or 4 times this year. Twice now I have been dissatisfied with their hush puppies. They taste like they've been cooked in old grease. The taste was so bad that I had to throw them away again. I will not be supporting this establishment any further. The staff are also pleasant so that's a plus.

I went to this location for the 1st time. It was soooo dark I didn't even know they were in business. It looks very dark and dangerous in the parking lot for customers and employees. The lady that took my order was soooo nice and the food was hot but it tasted like it was cooked in very old grease.The fries tasted old and were so dry and seemed reheated .I would love to have loved this experience but a little tweaking is in order. Please put lights in the parking lot for safety of your staff and customers. And please change the grease as well as get the sanitation grade up from a 95.5. I will definitely go back and give them another try because i feel like on a good day this would be a great place to eat.
