What an experience. I was greeted by very nice folks who were probably the owners of the place. The fried chicken was so juicy and crispy at the same time it was perfection. And the Mac was well seasoned and very tasty. The chocolate cake was soft and delicious.
Everything about this joint was absolutely amazing. I’m sorry to all the other spots, but this is the best fried chicken in North Carolina. Me and my big back will be back for more.

If the wonderful smell of the food coming from the bldg isn't enough to draw you in, then I don't know what else would.
We just returned from Sunday dinner, and we still can't stop saying, "Mmm, that's was so good!" Seriously, the flavor of the food is beyond incredible, and the staff is so kind and friendly. You know these are recipes passed down from granny to child to grandchild because of how amazing they are.
The smothered pork chops are so tender that you barely need a knife, and the gravy is heaven. The cabbage is so buttery and soft, and the crunchy fried chicken will leave you wanting more. Even the desserts are homemade. It's all melt in your mouth goodness from one bite to the next.
The Chicken Hut is a true gem, and as more and more Durhamite's and visitors learn of it, they find out what the rest of us already know. It's not to be missed!

Fried chicken, greens and mac & cheese. Chicken fried to order deli y. Greens seasoned well added a splash of vinegar. Mac & cheese creamy and awesome flavor. Bug juice, like I remember as a child (a little too sweet for the adult me), still good though. Food was hot, the way food be. Everyone was very friendly, staff as well as patrons. Will be going back to try their Oxtails,yum!!!!
