The food was prepared a little different. I ordered the smothered pork chop. The sauce it was smothered in was okay but not great. Great service and hospitality though. I would recommend.

Chicken Hut was awesome! Great food and excellent customer service! Trey, Ruth and the Chicken Hut team were nice, welcoming and took good care of me. We had fried chicken, beef tips with gravy, baked spaghetti, Mac and cheese, collards, cabbage, yams, and hush puppies. Plenty of parking behind chicken Hut and the two buildings next to it that they own. Turn in the two drive ways on the right before chicken Hut if coming from that direction.

The magic sauce is kindness at this special place. We arrived close to closing after rushing from a medical appointment at Duke. I hadn't been allowed to eat and was so hungry and excited. They welcomed us with smiles and laughs even at closing time. The food is great, especially the collards! But this really is a special place and a must because of the people who own/run it and the local customers. It's a scene and a community feel, but also welcoming. I was sent home with a piece of pink cake that I'm about to go have and savor the memory of a place that people still talk to each other, and seem interested in each other, and where you feel wanted. Never change Chicken Shack, you fill bellies and hearts.

Wish I could rate the Chicken Hut 6/5 stars. I've been wanting to try it for a long time but don't work nearby so getting over for lunch has been difficult. I loved everything about this restaurant, the fried chicken and sides were all outstanding and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. Can't wait to come back and bring the whole family along with me
