Love any excuse to visit the Durham Hotel, so was excited to learn about their Sunday Suppers! The family-style meal was delicious and the Coffee Bar dining area (where they serve Sunday Suppers) is lovely. Even though we were more than satisfied after this meal, we did save room for ordering coffee at the bar as well (they have a nice selection of specialty coffees as well as the usual options). Highly recommend! Note: Sunday Suppers are not served every Sunday...we were told...
We had a reservation for 10:30 brunch and were seated promptly. Our server was a little delayed getting to us, but we had placed our orders by 11. Two of our three coffees came out quickly, but the simplest drip coffee order didn't. We sat waiting for our food- quiche and avocado toast, super simple orders- until 12:15. We inquired a couple of times, thinking that the server forgot to actually submit the order. There was no offer to refill coffee. No water top-off, even....
We had a lovely time. It was heavily air-conditioned so we were glad we brought COATS. Our food tasted excellent, but it took longer to get it than we expected. We will go back again for brunch.
