I didn't even order here my sister did. But we were absolutely MORTIFIED when the guy in back cooking ripped open a pack of cheese with his teeth... TEETH!! She was just passed her food and I don't know if the guy thought that turning his back made him invisible, but it certainly did not. And the food was mid (short rib dumplings and bao). Definitely not going back.

This place is alright. The service was good, and I enjoy the atmosphere of eating in the Durham Food Hall, but the food was not great. I'll say that the Party Fries were decent. They were very crispy, and I enjoyed the flavor of the toppings. The worst part was the 'Ramen'. Definitely don't recommend that if you want to even call it ramen. There was nothing there to qualify that being $17. The noodles were still stuck together and hadn't fully cooked through, the 'Chashu' was just some slightly burnt pieces of bacon, and the broth just felt so cheap. What we ordered did not resemble the picture at all.

This is the only time I've been insulted by food. We ordered two bowls of tori paitan ramen. The broth is Swanson chicken broth with a splash of soy sauce. The noodles were unrescuably stuck together and raw in the middle. There was no ajitama or menma included in our bowls, despite being on the menu description. Finally, the "chashu" was simply overcooked bacon, no semblance to chashu beyond the fact that they both originate from the same cut of meet.
Overall, we paid nearly $50 for pre-assembled top ramen masquerading as paitan. If you've ever had real ramen before, avoid.

It's the worst ramen I've ever tasted. Diluted broth that tasted like water. Even after adding soy sauce, the flavor didn't improve. I asked for more vegetables and didn't get any. The noodles were overcooked. Bao bun was just okay. I should have read the reviews before heading there. Miso ramen didn't taste like it had a miso base. Overall, it was pretty terrible.

They make solid food and are also very nice. The rice bowls and short rib dumplings are awesome.

We had the crab rangoons short rib and octopus balls (can’t spell the name). And let me say this food was amazing… best octopus I’ve had and the crab rangoons were an actual bite size and I do t remember chewing the short ribs

I should have read the reviews. Ordered Okinomiyaki but couldn't finish it. Disappointed.

Great food even greater service, big fan of the new sweet and sour chicken bowl but the fries and bao buns are must tries. The dread headed boy took my order and was very patient, answering any questions I had and even helped me decide between the sweet and sour and ramen. Got my order within 10 minutes and enjoyed the hall’s outdoor seating. Best Asian food near the park.

Unfortunately no pictures of the food because we ordered it to-go (after dining in elsewhere), but the staff were friendly and the food was tasty!
Ordered two chicken bao buns and an onigiri ? They were both photogenic, so apologies that I devoured them before the camera snapped ?
I will add, the onigiri on the menu reads “there is a tasty treat inside,” and vegans/vegetarians should be aware that it is spam. I LOVE spam (usually in musubi form) so it was indeed a mice surprise, but others may not!
Thank you again for the good road foods! ?

Very pleasant experience meeting the Chef who even came over to our table to check on us. Our mushroom Raman was so good we weren’t even able to take leftovers!

I'm not sure what this ramen was called, but it was very greasy. I couldn't finish it and ended up throwing most if it away. I had high hopes for it but in the end the service was still excellent even if the food wasn't. The Durham food hall itself is a very nice place to dine and I would really recommend it!

I LIVE for the krab buns and nori fries here! All of the dumplings are also amazing. I wish they would move away from plastic utensils when they have silverware in the dining hall, and they could stop using plastic bags (didn't they used to use paper bags?) Otherwise, I'm a loyal customer and usually make a point to come by every 2 weeks. Love this place.

Chicken karaage and chasu bao were pretty tasty, and the bun itself was very good. Service was friendly and kind. I’ve had better chasu but it certainly wasn’t bad! Paired well with the kimchi underneath, which added a refreshing crunch and tang. Would eat these again!

Great service first off! Our cashier was great and his suggestions were very helpful. I had the Karaage buns and my daughter had the tofu dumplings. Both were great! Everything looks just like the pictures on this page, you will not be disappointed. My daughter loved the dumplings and she is a dumpling conniessuer so that says alot. My karaage was great! I just needed a small snack before we got on the road and these hit the spot. The next time we come back I would love to try the short rib dumplings and maybe the dashi fries.
