I couldn’t recommend this spot more! The drinks are exceptional and what makes them even better is that Conniption spirits are distilled right upstairs at Durham Distillery - every cocktail is crafted just steps from where you’re sipping. The vibes are amazing, and their Halloween pop-up is such a fun and creative experience. I love visiting for all of their seasonal menu changes - the Halloween pop-up was SO fun!

Perfectly crafted cocktails and wonderful atmosphere. We had twelve in our party who did the distillery tour before, it was really amazing trying all of their wonderful Gin’s and Liqueur’s. Will definitely be back!
Drinks are brilliant. We had their pink gin, s’mores martini, Durham calling, and poinsettia. Their s’mores martini is creamy and not the best. Durham calling and poinsettia were both very refreshing. We went on a Friday and vibes were great.

I was interested to check out this gin bar. Looked like a cool place. When I arrived I learned their gin is of a corn base. I have awful hangovers to corn based spirits (whisky/bourbon), and this includes corn-based gin. Love gin but can’t do gin with a corn base, it’s seriously awful for me. It seems the rage of American distillers is to distill gin from corn (why???) including Blue Coat, Empress, etc. and it out their house gin is from a corn base. They should indicate that. I asked for one of the signature cocktails but with another gin substituted but was told by the rude bartender that they couldn’t do that. Okay, none of my money for you! Overall a rude and obnoxious experience.

Casual watering hole attached to the distillery. Creative cocktails with a nice selection holiday-themed choices. The patio is nice, even on a cold night.
Try Grandma Hot Run Over by a Reindeer on a cold night!

At first I was worried about how dingy it would be. Walking down a sidewalk around the back of a distillery isn't the most luxurious! However, once we entered the space, we were met with a quality environment. We were seated quickly. The ambiance is so unique and lots of fun!! The cocktails were very enjoyable, especially if you are a gin lover. If not, there are still lots for you to choose from. It wasn't too busy for a Friday night. Would be good for groups of six or less. Felt very much like a cocktail lounge, less like a bar. :)

Been coming here for a few years and have never had a bad experience. The current menu (Aug 2024) is so fun and playful. I really feel like they're in a renaissance of their style and presentation. If you're a cocktail lover or just enjoy a laid-back underground vibe, this is your spot.
