Went there for brunch. Ordered the Bankers Breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage with sourdough toast. Eggs and sausage were barely lukewarm and the sourdough was barely toasted . The potatoes were hot and crisp and very good. Service was good, on the leisurely side. Restaurant was about half full. I can possibly understand leisurely service and some lukewarm food at a very busy time but the place was far from bustling. I was hosting 2 acquaintances and did not feel comfortable complaining. I may try again at dinner as it is close to DPAC but not likely to try brunch again.
We had a 7pm reservation. I had to check a few times and finally sat at 7:20. Service started great but declined quickly. Food came out fairly quick but they gave one of our entrees to another table so had to wait for that one. Drinks came out wrong 3 times. Don't get me wrong, everyone was very polite and accommodating. I am chalking this up to be short staffed. Now the food. The Peach Salad, the pickled veggies and the Japanese break were how we started the meal and they were all fantastic so we were excited for the entrees, We all got different food. The Roasted Chicken - Very tender and tasty but a bit spicy. Gnocchi - Added Chicken was necessary. It was good but was almost soup like as the cream filled the bowl. Pork Schnitzel - This is the one we waited for and I thinked they rushed it out. It's basically fried pork chop and was overcooked and dry. Whole Branzino - This was the Dayboat fish. I'll prefice this with I've eaten and fileted a lot of fish in my day. This fish was delicious! But....the way it was cut, it was a lot of work picking the bones out. This is a very cool restaurant inside a museum hotel. I've eaten at several of these and they are always fun. Would I go back, maybe but they have some work to do.
Our server, Henry, was the best - giving us detailed descriptions of all the dishes and coming back often to make sure all was well. The food was fabulous! My friend and I started out with raw oysters - Counting House had 3 varieties available. The 2 we ordered were fresh and tasted just as Henry had described. I had the branzino for my entree. It was served whole, grilled perfectly, moist and almost buttery tasting. The by-the-glass wine list was brief but paired with the food choices well. We were there very early because we were going to a show at DPAC so there were very few patrons. As a result the noise level was low. I would definitely return.
This is a hotel restaurant. The food is so so, the pastries are terrible, and the service is indifferent.
Hotel food. Server and other staff were great. Ambiance middling. Food meh. Had gnocchi, which was overwhelmed by a raw garlic flavor. “Confit Wings” app is a fancy name for “wings.” Put a bright red maraschino cherry in my Manhattan, which was $17 for the bourbon, $1.50 for “Manhattan,” and $2 for the ice cube, all broken out on the bill.
The food was good. Everything else was average or below. It should be nicer and more professional than it is.
Overall, the experience was nice. Fries came out room temperature, but we notified our waiter, and he brought news one out that were hot. The ribeye was good, as well as the smashed burger. The cocktails were good. We were going to DPAC afterwards, so only a few blocks away. Very convenient.
Food was really good. Wait staff was AMAZING. Atmosphere was beautiful. My guest and I had a wonderful experience for my birthday brunch.
Service was good however attention was lacking and things were not presented as stated on the menu. Flavors were great. Items cooked well.
Beautiful location and knowledable staff. The food and cocktails were delicious. Unique art and beautiful building!

$4.00 charge for a a large cube of ice in your drink is absurd. Were asked if you wanted one large cube but never told it would be an extra $4.00 charge. Got two drinks so basically paid $8.00 for frozen water!
Our waiter Pip was friendly and well-meaning. Unfortunately, there was something very wrong in the kitchen. after waiting an hour for our salad and bagel with lox, she apologized and delivered a fruit free plate saying that our food would be right out. It was a nice gesture but when the salad arrived ten minutes later we were informed they didn't have lox after all. We said okay, just deliver a toasted bagel with cream cheese. That took minutes. We weren't in a hurry but those kind of crazy delays are not expected at a restaurant of their repute. Obviously I can't recommend it for brunch. In contrast, we had breakfast today at Big Beautiful Breakfast and the food was yummy and arrived darn fast y'all.
Excellent cuisine by Melanie Wilkinson with outstanding service by Pip. A memorable birthday celebration.
Since it's part of the museum there was artwork on the walls above us and throughout the rest of the space. Thought the lighting was odd and not quite evenly-lit based on street side windows and interior partitions. Really enjoyed the Japanese milkbread/honey butter. Carolina sauce was better for the confit wings. Pork schnitzel entree was ok. Because we stayed at the hotel, we got some credit at the restaurant and a complimentary whiskey tasting.
Our waitress was lovely. We arrived at 6:15 pm before the 8 pm DPAC Rocketman show. Our waitress side she would have us out by 7:30 pm. We agreed. We each had a cocktail and appetizer but by 7:30pm our main course was no where to be found. I told our waitress we had to go and she called her manager. The manager asked if we would like a go box for our meal. When we declined, she told us that the good news was she would be sure we were not charged for the meal ( we never got). Really? This is your hospitality training? Give me a break!! We will never go back. I tipped the new waitress 25% but failed the establishment.
