Weird vibe upon entry! Just moved back home to NC and was greeted rudely just like Im still in the DMV.

I told the waitress/greeter just one adult and I had my toddler great niece with me. She asked if anyone else would be joining us. No! She said to sit anywhere along the wall. That was fine. I looked at the menu wasnt appealing at all but I immediately lost my appetite and left.

I came in from Philly to visit my little brother and he took me to a diner which, sadly, had a line going out, so we decided on Debbie Lou's instead. Crowded, but not enough to keep us from getting some bar seats, we sat down. Service was relatively quick (relative to the size of the crowd) and, while I'd been hankering for some Eggs Benedict, I didn't see it on the brunch menu. Tragedies abound.

What did catch my eye was the duck ragu over parmesan grits, so I got that. Hoo-boy. That was a lot of flavor in there and the shredded duck was about at jerky level crispness which gave a pleasant little crunch with a lot of flavor. It was very pleasant and I'd definitely be back to try something else, since I love me some variety.

The best breakfast I’ve had since moving to North Carolina 4 years ago. Period. The food taste like it’s made only for Christians. Food was so good I came in with an attitude and left thinking about God and his goodness. Go and thank HIM later!

This place is unbelievably good. Go with a friend and a big appetite and one of you order savory, the other sweet, and then split it. This is the time when I wished I was a cow and had four stomachs instead of one.

The worst service I've ever received! The manager/owner was very rude! Walked in, no one said anything. We asked do we seat ourselves and was instantly given an attitude. We go to sit down and the manager/ owner/ waiter literally threw the menu on the table and when I asked her about it she said she handed to me. How? I would never come back to this establishment.

This is my go to brunch hidden gem. I've heard it used to be True Flavors, and it rings up on my credit card that way, so seems there was a rebrand, maybe. Unassuming in a strip mall, but probably that's what makes the hidden part. Little to no wait, diner vibes, and amazing french toast and biscuits. The french toast is maybe 2 inches thick, and there's a selection of different topping. I recommend the roasted duck crackle biscuit, but you can't go wrong.

Parking: It's in a strip mall. I parked 20 feet from the front door on a Sunday morning at 11am.

Wow! That was a first! All within a span of 10 seconds, the “hostess” with a horrible attitude managed to make me angry enough to turn on my heals and depart this cafe. That takes talent! ?

Love the ambiance. I was here on a Saturday, and it was packed. The menu has several options, I went with lemon ricotta pancakes, with 2 over easy eggs and ham. The coffee was nice and strong andstreaming. The maple syrup was warm (although a bit disappointed that it was artificial). OMG the smell of the pancake is divine. I didn't expect the ham to be an actual thick piece of ham, and it was nice and moist. The eggs were cooked to perfection. The pancake was very good, so if you like trying something different go for it.

I sat at the countertop as I was dining alone. The hostess greeted me promptly and gave me a stand to put my feet on because I’m short and they couldn’t reach the floor. The waiter came over quickly as well and was helpful with giving recommendations based off of what I was looking for. The chicken and blueberry sweet potato biscuit was tasty and the chicken was fried perfectly. I was in and out in under 30 minutes which was perfect because I was meeting friends after.

Decided to give it a go despite the mid ratings. They tried to charge me for a side that I didn’t order. The person who dropped the food off didn’t tell me what they were placing it on the table. When the server noticed the mistake, I told her she could take it back since I hadn’t touched it. She told me once it hits the table they can’t take it back. She told me to “Go ahead and enjoy it, I’ll see about getting it taken off the bill since that was our mistake, not yours.” The way she worded it was fishy so I didn’t touch it. She asked me if I wanted a box and I declined. Then, when the bill came, she told me because I didn’t decline it when it was delivered to the table, I would be charged for it. I refused to pay for it given I didn’t order it and didn’t touch it, and they did end up taking it off. Super surprised to have this experience, as I’ve worked in restaurant for over a decade. The food was positively amazing, the atmosphere is fine, but like others have mentioned, the service really needs work. Might give it another shot, but would be hesitant to recommend.

Parking: Lot can be quite full with several other businesses here.

Horrible experience. Restaurant does not close until 2 walked in at 1:15 and was no one was at the hostess stand so we begin to walk in and as soon as we take a few steps we ate greeted with one of the rudest greetings I have ever experienced at a restaurant. The lady rudely says how can I help you very abruptly and loud letting it be known we were not welcomed then begins to tell us she can not seat us because the restaurant just stopped seating and take out had just stopped. Then tells us someone will be here to greet us at 7:30 tomorrow morning and points towards the door letting us know we need to leave. I felt highly disrespected even if she was having a bad day there is a way to speak to customers especially first time customers we just moved to this area and we definitely will never be coming back. It's a very unwelcome vibe. Then she begins to walk back to the side with two other employees and talk. She literally was doing nothing else but talking not serving, cleaning or anything but so I'm guessing she doesn't want anyone else to come in so she didn't have to do anymore work and go home early. We went down the street to Briggs and had a very pleasant experience.

I guess I'm a gluten for punishment. Cause despite the fact that Brandy Coves always seemed to have a miserable attitude, I would frequent this restaurant way more than I should have and every time Brandy Coves would display the worst hospitality. The other servers weren't much better and still I would go! Clearly for the food!! On Dec 29th 2023, I went to try and place an order to go. I was told to scan the QR code to place a to go order. I informed Brandy Coves that it wasn't working and she said it was and they were much to busy to take my order physically. After trying several times with no success I decided to just sit in the restaurant and eat. I was set at the counter and was told it would be a $10 charge PER ENTREE for an order to go, I then told the server I would eat in the restaurant. After taking my order she proceeded to hand me a bill for $20 extra dollars for takeout. I made it clear I had no intentions of paying $20 when I was dinning in, the server lied and told Brandy I asked for boxes at that point power tripping Brandy told me I could not eat in the restaurant and she didn't owe me any explanation for her hostility. I told her to have a nice day and she said she was b4 I came in. After reading the negative reviews about the workers I now know it wasn't just me. I've finally had my full of the rudeness and will never go back and would not recommend True Flavors to worst my enemy!
