We thought this places was closed but recently we saw their open signs!! It was a bit slow at first but then the regulars flocked in!
This place is a hidden gem in N Durham! It’s the closest grill and bar to us and what makes it even better is the staff! From the server to manager to the kitchen, this place has it all!! Go see them and keep them open. Maybe if we all ask they’ll open up earlier!!!
They said they sometimes have karaoke. We will be back especially for football season. There are plenty of TVs and nice bar area!
They also have a banquet room for a nice size party! It’s right next to Harris Teeter! Go give them a visit!

Customer service was fine, however maybe I ordered the wrong thing or went on the wrong day, because the food had no flavor. Ordered nachos and chicken tender boxes (they were flat like a pancake) for my kids which were just as expensive as adult meals. It’s was not good, had to add salt so my kids would eat it, we were still hungry & had to eat something else later. Would not come back.

3/14/25 dinner: another wonderful meal with friends! Salmon, shrimp po’boy and chicken meals. All delicious! The atmosphere is relaxing; our server was attentive and friendly! This is a neighborhood gem!
5/26/2023 dinner: we had a fun dinner at Dogwood Friday night. I had the chicken nachos which were plentiful and delicious. My friends had salmon, ribs, and one of the dinner salads. All were good!! Our server, Samantha, was wonderful-friendly and attentive! I would eat here again.
Great food in an easy going environment. We got the Western Burger, Fried Shrimp Plate, and Chicken Tender Basket. Some families came in and there were a few regulars at the bar.

What a charming neighborhood bar. Great service. We had spinach salad, vodka penne, mushroom burger and sweet potato fries. All were good and served nice and hot. Comfortable booths and tables

OK food but meat heavy. Had the fried shrimp and it had an oily taste so I suspect the oil is a bit old. Very nice staff.

About 4 years ago I moved from Dallas, TX to Durham. Since I got here I have been looking for a hamburger place comparable to Beck's Prime. I've eaten at a number of places, most all were OK, but nothing like Beck's Prime. Today I found a place that will fully satisfy my burger craving! Dogwood Bar & Grill has great burgers, large, & cooked to order. (Rare & Medium Rare) The burgers were juicy & flavorful, very beefy flavored. Toppings were great, the tomato tasted like it was vine ripened. (Summertime in NC there is no excuse for plastic supermarket tomatoes). French fries and sweet potato fries were also good. Price was great considering the very tasty product.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp from the parking lot to their door.
