I want to like this place so bad but their bread is just beyond terrible. I have tried this place 3 times now thinking the bread was just stale, but it seems like that’s just what they have here. The bread, both the round and the hero, is very dry, dense and flavorless. Completely ruins the sandwich and my guest said they had to take sips of water just to choke the bread down. They either have 2-3 day old bread, or their bread is frozen and significantly dries it out. I’ll stick to Jimmy John’s and some other local spots for a sandwich unfortunately.

Not bad. Good for lunch, nothing super special but better than other sandwich joints. Couldn't get a table inside, and all the exterior picnic tables had ants everywhere. I'll go back, but probably just for takeout.

Love Eastcut and their wide variety menu options! My favorite is their Buffalo chicken. It’s delicious! The food is a bit pricey for sandwiches but I have never finished my meal and always split my sandwich into two meals. Highly recommend! Their mozz sticks are also pricey but a non negotiable. So good! We also love their outdoor area.

I rarely write reviews but felt compelled because of how good the service and food is at Eastcut. I accidentally ordered to the wrong location and when I went to pick up the food the resolved MY error quickly and treated me great.

Very nice sandwiches and salads. Reasonably priced as well. It’s difficult to comprehend why anyone would want to order from Panera instead of coming here.

Food was fine, my McSteak cheesesteak was a proper chopped steak take on a Bic Mac, my wife's Buff Chick was flavorful, but cold when it should have been hot. Sodas were canned, so for $2.95 we were very surprised when they arrived. 3 bucks to slap a can on the table seems a bit much. Curly fries were fine, though very light on seasoning. All in all, food was fine, though not extraordinary.

TLDR: Super disappointing! Incredibly overpriced, mediocre (at best) food.

We were really excited to try this place based on some of the other reviews and the buzz around town. Despite the surprising prices on the menu we were hopeful it would turn out to be worth it. It wasn't. Two largeish sandwiches, two sides, two drinks, tax and 18% tip was over $60 (see attached receipt).

The Italian was oddly sweet, very dry, and surprisingly bland. The Parm was also quite bland and the chicken was dry and overcooked. The rolls for each sandwich were ok, nothing to write home about but, ok.

If the meal had cost half as much I would still have been disappointed but probably would have shrugged and not bothered to write a review. At this price point it should have been high end deli quality meats, fresh baked bread, and juicy, crispy fresh fried chicken... It wasn't. Not even close.

I really don't understand all the positive reviews. There are so many other better options out there for sandwiches... You've been warned.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while as I've always heard good things. We finally went today and we were pretty underwhelmed. First of all, our two sandwiches, each with a side came to be $38... and $45 with tip. The bread on my sandwich seemed old as it was pretty dry and tough. My partner's bread was even harder. Only half my sandwich had mayo on it too which isn't really a big deal, considering they had packets available, but if I pay over $15 for a sandwich, I would expect it to be above average. And the sides were not included with the sandwich... you had to pay separately for them which is part of the reason our total was so high. I got the potato salad which was delicious, however I got maybe a half a cup's worth and it cost, I think $2.50.

Thanks, but I'll just go to Which Wich or Jimmy John's next time.

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, it fell short in almost every way. For a restaurant that’s so highly rated in Durham, it’s sad when you can get a better Italian sandwich at a national chain like Jimmy John’s. The sandwich names were fun - but mediocre in every way.

Both my partner and I were extremely disappointed with the bread—my sourdough was blatantly not fresh. It was stale around the edges and crusty, while the overall texture was dry. Same for the sesame roll. The sandwiches we ordered were completely lacking in flavor. We had two deli sandwiches and two sides, with water, and our total came to $45. That’s an outrageous price considering it was 2 sandwiches and a side - especially when we didn’t add any extras to the sandwiches themselves. I’m sorry, but that price point for the quality we received is ridiculous.

It’s a cute place, but unfortunately, it’s terribly overrated.

Parking: One lane in and one lane out. When full it’s a hot mess.
