Fantastic experience here! Our waiter gave awesome recommendations and the food was delicious. We sat on the patio and it was such a great vibe. We tried a little bit of everything just about and it was all fantastic! Not pictured: oxtails, sausage rolls & sav blanc

Went for lunch recently and it was fantastic. I recommend the burger and the Cuban soda!

I had the oxtails and they were tender but salty. The service was great and the setting was great.

My first taste of African food, I tried the dovi for lunch and it was amazing. Service was impeccable!

My husband and I had such an incredible experience. Each staff member was attentive, professional and welcoming. We both truly appreciated the quality, freshness, and flavor of each menu item we tried. Looking forward to returning soon!

From out of town, stopped by for lunch. It was wonderful. We love tapas dining and the portions were very large. The salad and sweet potato fries were very tasty. The neighboring table has the flat bread, and we wished we could visit again to try it. Thanks!!

The food was very delicious, but the staff were extremely rude. It’s no surprise the place was empty. Owner, please take note.

Meh, that’s the best way to describe it. Food was tasty but had to wait 30 minutes for your drink and food only to get a portion the size of a kids meal. Had to ask a couple times where our drinks and food were and the place was half full.

I didn't eat in the restaurant so I won't judge the service or atmosphere but the food was so good that I immediately told my husband we had to go there. I had the Ham & Cheddar Biscuit and other pastries like that and I can honestly say it was the best savory pastry I've ever eaten.

Amazing African fusion cuisine in the heart of Downtown Durham. Such a cute little place and within walking distance to DPAC. We loved everything we tried! Started with a delicious mocktail and then the rice bomb and peri peri corn for appetizers. For dinner, we had the Suya chicken kabobs and the Barbere half chicken. Everything was delicious. Cant wait to go back! The only thing that could improve is the service. We had told our waitress we had a show to catch and she seemed to have slowed down even more after hearing that. We waited a really long time for the main course and finally had to remind her before she came rushing out with the items. Service could be a bit better but the food more than makes up for it.

Such a bra intimate space with wonderful food and wonderful service. Some of the item on the menu are so different from my norm but so good and worth stepping outside the box! And a place is only as good as their service and the service was absolutely amazing. Definitely a must try!

Ekhaya is a lucky find in Durham! I am from South Africa so I do have a soft spot for this place, but the food and beautiful decor speak for themselves, too. I grew up with my mom often making bobotie; it is a comfort food for me, and being able to get it in Durham is so special. While I may be a little biased, there's a reason it's one of their most popular dishes! The cinnamon / nutmeg comes out beautifully against the minced meat and the rest of the spices. Sausage rolls are also a piece of home to me & such a tasty treat. All the chicken dishes and desserts are also delicious. I've been to Zweli's Ekhaya a few times now; all the flavors are outstanding and I always leave ready to return soon.

Ekhaya is my favorite dining restaurant in Durham! The food is amazing—especially my favorite the Baboti. The cocktails are excellent, and the staff is always friendly. It’s the perfect spot before a show at DPAC. I recommend it to everyone!
