It was like being in a place that you’re a regular. Everyone was fantastic. Best service ever. Left a $20 tip if that tells you how good the service was.

Mary was a really good server. Atmosphere was good . Food was mediocre ? grits were not that great omelet was ok at best , biscuit was toasted but tasted a day old. Again Mary saved you from a 3 star

It's a good cheap place to get breakfast. The wait is long because it's a long standing breakfast spot, very popular. But when you get down to it, nothing here is really special other than their 20 year long history. But don't bother believing some of the inflated reviews. It's just okay.

Food was really good. Ordered a custom omelette and it was better than most places I’ve been. Everything home made. Biscuits and gravy is all homemade. Wish I could give 4.5 instead of a 4 or 5. I would come again for sure, but not saying it’s the best place I’ve ever been.

I have eaten at Elmo's for many years. Today was a bust. They need better cooks. My omelette had ingredients that were not sauteed. And the grits were not hot, had to send back. Elmo's isn't what it used to be. My dining experience is done with Elmo's for awhile.

This is a hidden gem in Durham NC. Only hidden to those that have never been there. They have good food here. I almost hate telling people because I like it and then I can't get a seat.

Local diner feel with straightforward eggs and other breakfast foods. Had the veggie burrito and the soyuritto (sp?) another time. My wife had the basic 2 eggs breakfast. Everything was prepared well, came out relatively quickly and tasted good. The burrito was more of an egg wrap. Nothing made it Mexican. Would have been good with refried beans in there and some salsa. They do have two kind of hot sauce.
The wait in the morning was about 15 minutes both times we visited. Can see why it’s popular. The menu has a wide array of most things you would expect for breakfast and lunch. They are not open for dinner.

Go-to local diner -- breakfast all day, delicious specials. Elmo's just might be my favorite comfort eatery <3
Parking: Parking can get tight, but it's free in Elmo's lot. (Do not infringe on other biz's spaces though -- they post that they'll tow, and the mean it. Ye were warned!)
Kid-friendliness: Families frequent it -- if you want cozy, quiet, romantic this ain't it.
Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance has limited wheelchair accessible parking -- the building itself offers easy to navigate flat open spacing for wheelchair users. And staff are very willing to assist

Reasonable prices, nice location and cool kinda retro vibe. I like that their menu is consistent, got spinach enchiladas for the second time today and they were great.
