Taste, presentation, service, atmospere and cleanliness were all excellent. I hope thay expand to Florida. I loved the cabbage on the vegetarian plate, and the complex sauce on the chicken. There was enough heat for flavor, but it did not hide the spices. Delicious.

Dropped in on a Saturday afternoon around 12:30. There appeared to be only one employee working which was fine since there was only one other couple in the whole place. We ordered lentil appetizers and a vegetarian platter. After almost 15 minutes, the waitress brought out two, very small sambusas that were burnt…not brown, but actually black on the bottom. When we questioned her, she snatched them away without an even apology! We thought she might replace them, but she only brought out the platter without a word. The platter was large which made the skimpy potions very noticeable- I doubt there was even a cup of each vegetables on there. The taste was just ok- nothing to rave about. We were so disappointed as we’d been waiting a year to try this place out. Don’t bother to stop here - head downtown to Addis where the employees are friendly, the food is plentiful and the flavors are amazing.

WoW the food is Awesome. If you are Interested in trying authentic Ethiopian food you have come to the right place. This is your first stop. There is a few places to check out i have tried them all in Winnipeg. But Gojo is my favourite.

We have been eating here for years at this point. The food is still amazing. They have 11 vegan dishes to choose from and get as combos. Tofu tibs is a wonderful addition to the menu. The restaurant is chill, food is great and if you are vegan this is a great option. Make sure you check their hours and even call if it is around holidays, since this is a small family owned/operated place. If you are in a hurry, go elsewhere and come back when you have time to wait and enjoy your dining experience:)

This is a great place and I am a fan of ethiopian food in general. It's usually not crowded, which makes me worry as to how long they can stay in business. So west-end people go to this place - this is the only ethiopian restaurent we have in west end and we don't want them going out of business! They a a great lunch buffet too.

Small Ethiopian Restaurant with very good food at a very reasonable price. 3 of us shared a large platter of food with 3 meat choices and 6 veggie choices and had an appetizer for $52. The service was also quite good.

Our group of three adults enjoyed an early Christmas Eve dinner at this fine Ethiopian restaurant. The helpful server/owner helped us navigate the menu and select an excellent combination of palette pleasing, savory meat and vegetable dishes. We rated each of the three meat and six vegetable dishes an A+! The excellent service, intimate atmosphere and delicious food are a delight. We highly recommend this hidden gem.

We had three people, with two ordering meat dishes and one all veggie. Although that wasn’t for vegetarian reasons, it was a little surprising to have all three served together without a quick check to make sure no one was vegetarian. We had two beef dishes which were both excellent, but most of the veggie options didn’t do anything for us. The injera was good, a pleasing sour hint with soft but firm flatbread. One other quibble was it was ice cold with the A/C, even for the one of us usually find with cooler temperatures.

I was so delighted to find another excellent Ethiopian restaurant in Richmond. I live in southeastern VA and only have one mediocre Ethiopian restaurant. So monthly I will make a trek to delight in the cuisine of my soul, here at Gojo. I usually get the vegetarian combo platter because you get a lovely variety. The injera was fresh and delicious (the Teff injera, too! YUM!) Everything was delish! They were out of the cabbage (which is a favorite), but they substituted an extra serving of another favorite. I will DEFINITELY be back! The Ethiopian coffee was probably one of the best cups I have had! The place is LOVELY, the staff is very friendly and the service was excellent. A+

Small restaurant and staff. There was only one other table busy while we were there. The waitress was very helpful with the menu. We got a meat sampler and a veggie sampler and shared among the four of us. We have had tastier Ethiopian food, but this food was good.
