We have loved being in Durham over the past five years, and this is not an announcement we anticipated making when we closed on March 16th. However, our lease was up for renewal, and the revised lease terms were not something we could commit to given the uncertain times we find ourselves in. To say we are disappointed by the lack of flexibility, and proposed rent increase by the landlord, would be an understatement. This does not mean the end of Gonza Tacos y Tequila in Durham. We are committed to the Gonza Tacos y Tequila location at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, as well as our new partnership with Duke Athletics. Thank you Durham for your love and support over the past five years. We hope to find another location, and will keep you posted. &

Going through old photos and I forgot to upload my review for this spot. Great salsa and good margaritas! The staff was fairly busy with a large party but the food was on point The plantains were the star!

Delicious and great service! Jonathan was our server and he did a great job of taking care of us. He recommended some wonderful dishes. The braised short rib tacos were so yummy! Had I known earlier, I would have requested a table outside because the patio looked so fun.

Enjoyed our chips, salsa and queso. Enjoyed my vegetarian tacos and plantains and my husband quite liked his dish too. Hard to decide between 4 and 5 stars. For me, having one more veggie taco option would bump this to a 5, but I still definitely recommend this spot!

Pretty good Mexican food. I was here for a catered event. It was surprisingly savory, albeit not authentic. Still, I'd recommend coming here since it has a great atmosphere.

Enjoyed lunch at this interesting eatery. Service was outstanding, our server was knowledgeable and helpful, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend and wish we had one in Greensboro.

Being from a border town, I know a good margarita, and this is the closest thing to it in the triangle. The Gonza in Durham is the best in the triangle, consistently excellent service and the bar staff has been the same since I first arrived two years ago. Must try!

Go for the atmosphere! The decor inside is really cool, and they have a spacious patio area that would be great for warm days. They have a lot you can park at, plus some street parking in front. It can get pretty crowded on a weekend night, but it's worth the visit. The food is decent in my opinion. The fajitas were too vinegary for my taste, but came out fresh & sizzling. And I appreciated the fast service!
