Good location and nice presentation of Ethiopian classics, with the addition of craft beer and cocktails, as is more college crowd. If you like Ethiopian you will taste the difference of seasoning, but is the only of its type in the area. The service is the lowest point, as the service is just an extension of the kitchen. With all that, I would go back if in downtown Durham when craving vegetarian dishes.
I've gone maybe 3 times within the last month. Traveling about 75 minutes to & fro. The first 2 times I loved the food and portions. I even had injera left over for dinner. Today, I felt shorted. Tip: try to be consistent in portions.
B: the food tasted fresh and the portions were great. The beef was so tender that it felt buttery when you picked it up. It was my first time trying Ethiopian food and was pleasantly surprised with the spice similarities to my own culture! The environment was very welcoming and the staff were attentive.
