I love hotdogs. They're one of my favorite comfort foods, particularly chili cheese dogs. I've eaten hundreds over the years from many different establishments, and I am not exaggerating when I saw the chili cheese dogs at Hawk Dogs are easily in the top five best dogs I've ever had.
The chili is - in my opinion - the best type of chili for a hot dog: no beans, lots of sauce, and super savory. The dogs are wrapped in foil, and to be frank (pun intended) are very messy. This is something I personally love, but fair warning to have napkins on deck. The dogs are $4 each at the time I'm writing this, which is entirely reasonable for how ridiculously delicious they are.
The crew are super nice, and there is a great selection of toppings and snacks as well. I overheard someone ordering a Chicago dog, which is pretty uncommon for a stand to have here in Durham.
If you're in the downtown area and are craving a bite to sop up some of those drinks you've put down, Hawk Dogs is a must hit spot. I'm getting hungry just typing this up, so I'll be stopping by their pop-up outside Old North bar after work for that chili cheese perfection!

Seriously awesome hot dog! The coleslaw was the best I've ever had in my entire life! I got a couple of dogs with mustard and slaw. Oh man you gotta try it.

Really enjoyed the new Purple Rain Dog. The sweet purple slaw had great flavor and the rest of the dog was solid. Service was great. Just a top notch hot dog stand.

I've ordered several times and only one order was 100% correct. On Postmates you are required to add cheese to all hot dogs to add them to the cart, and even when you place special notes stating you don't want cheese, they still put cheese on every dog unless they're out of cheese. I reported this to them and they said they would fix it over a month ago and it's still not fixed. They consistently only deliver half of every combo that has multiple dogs in it. Two combos should have four dogs but they'll only put two in your package, and you may not get chips or drinks for the combos. Postmates also frequently doesn't understand HOW the orders are wrong even with photos and extensive conversations. The sad part is they're one of the only places that deliver that has Sabrett's onions.
Ordered on UberEats, was missing two hot dogs and missing half the toppings and missing the chips and missing a drink. They really just said forget whatever it is that you just ordered imma put whatever I want on your order

I had one of those Hawkdogs this past Saturday at our Neighborhood’s Block Party. The hot dog tasted incredible and that chili was out-of-sight. I can’t wait to see what the hamburgers taste like. I will definitely be buying from them again!
