The chicken and dumplings green beans and yams were delicious. My friends and myself, we all enjoy yourself. The place was peaceful but a little busy, but the food was really good. The people were really friendly helpful. Do appreciate that.And this is our second time going back.
A cold, out of the frig bun. A fried fish with skin. 3 Hushpuppies That's it. A pack of Ken's tater on the side. I was so dissatisfied, and tasteless was very accurate. 1st and last time going here.

We have been reading tons of reviews for BBQ places around Durham as we were preparing to travel through. My husband and I both, despite being on the Gulf Coast where sweet, thick BBQ sauce reigns, were raised on good Carolina style with slaw. After all the reviews and other negative reviews and frustrations we decided to just find a close one on our journey north on 85. Several popped up, but we loved the raw, hole in the wall feel that screamed established and local favorite. Our order included a chicken breast, two pulled pork with slaw sandwiches, okra, granny's potatoes, and mac and cheese. The potatoes were on a recommendation. They were reds boiled in butter with onions it was good. I ordered it on a recommendation. It was a little rich for me, but it was good. It just isn't my style. Everything else was a 10. The food was fast. The staff was efficient.

The prices at Hog Heaven have increased and I can't justify paying those prices for lunch. For years, myself and coworkers would visit at least once a week but that is no longer the case. The ribs on Tuesdays are great and the fried chicken is normally great. It would be nice to see some lunch specials or actual deals on the special of the day.

Seen someone on here say they ordered chicken bbq plate and got pork my dude why you see a sign that says hog HOG heaven and order chicken.? Popeyes right down the street
Do not judge a book bye it’s cover! I love local food places and sometimes I am disappointed but this certainly was not one! I had the bbq platter with green beans, Cole slaw and hush puppies! Wow! My wife had the Brunswick stew with bbq and it was amazing! My brother had the fried chicken and wow wow wow so good! Omg everything was so good and great portions! Stop by and have a good dinner!
All the food was good. The pulled pork w/their BBQ sauce, crisp hush puppies, coleslaw, was very tasty. Plus it one of a very few BBQ places that was opened on Mondays.
The location is a little intimidating, but don't worry, the people are awesome and friendly. Some of the best barbecue and sauces I have ever had. Nice large helpings, we even ordered some to go. They are quick and attentive. Nice big dining room. It feels a little like a school lunch room. Very clean and orderly. The bathroom was clean and stocked. I will go again, next time I am in the area.
Flounder was cooked perfectly. Shrimp was a little too well done. Fried chicken was good. Granny’s potatoes (red potatoes,butter, & onions)were delish. Hush puppies were yummy! They were out of hot sauce…..
Great food, southern in flare. Service yourself. And sadly the place has cob webs all around the windows and dust all around the air vents. What we could see if the kitchen was a bit sloppy. Just not very tidy overall. But the food we had there was almost nothing to complain about. Fair priced.

Had 30 min for lunch, and this place caught my eye. Had the pork bbq platter. It was fresh and tender, but could've had more smoke flavor. Not a big thing, though. The turnip greens and cole slaw were on point. Good, affordable food served extremely fast.
