Great lattes and latte art! Very crowded with people working on their laptops ?

My second time here went better than the first! I appreciate that they don't charge extra for non-dairy milks, because most coffee shops do. This made the drinks much more affordable and I enjoyed the latte that I got.

I'm usually not one to rate local businesses with anything less than 5 stars but I'm starting to get tired of the routine attitude and disregard the staff here treats people with. I put in an online order with a specific pick up time and it was ready 14 minutes early. The drinks languished on the counter until I could get there at my specified pick up time and as anticipated, the cold drink was sweating and the hot drink was one step removed from tepid. This is an easily resolved situation though, so we asked for ONLY the hot drink to be remade. When I tell you the look the barista gave us made it seem like we had asked for feet pics or something unprompted, I'm not kidding. They looked irritated that we'd even think to ask for it remade and looked at their watch to check what time it was (I guess to compare to when they put it out). We did get it remade but you'd think it was a personal affront to the barista to do so.This is not the first time in recent months that we've had a bad experience either. Like many, I've had poor experiences with attitude and absolute silent treatment. I don't expect them to put on a fake customer service voice and ask how my day is, but a simple "Hello, what can I get for you?" is better than someone coming to the POS and then just staring at me until I order.

Everything about this place is amazing. The staff were uplifting and kind. The atmosphere was great. And the coffee is just out of this world.

Full rating on coffee and food. This place is a staple in the Triangle...BUT have you ever experienced something so mediocre you started chuckling in disbelief? I've worked in customer service too. It's not easy. When I'm your only customer and I'm well-mannered, there's no need to talk to me like a nuisance, slam my pastry bag down, and not have the slightest reaction to my thank you. One of these things is ok, but the combo starts to feel comedic. To the owner - don't let something so fixable be a reason for slipping through the cracks. I really like your coffee.

Decent coffee, okay food, however the person working the register this Tuesday morning refused to say a word to me and took my order in silence. He greeted the customers before and after me though. Interesting. Seems I’m not the only one who had rude, strange, or otherwise unexpected interactions here based on previous reviews.

Love their cold brew, but the employees here need better training. Very poor attitude on a lovely Sunday morning.

I really like Joe Van Goghs scones, they are the best. I have had the London fog and the maple, both are yummy! The only problem is they run out early and that is disappointing. If they don't have a scone I don't bother with the cappuccino.

I am very disappointed writing this review because I have been going to Joe Van Gogh consistently for 4 years. The past few months I have switched the location and have been going to Broad st instead of Woodcroft which I deeply regret. The customer service is trash and the staff is unapologetic about that fact. Doesn't matter if you say hello, thank you, or an incorrect or late item - you will get silence. Even ordering, they'll do that silently and walk away when it's time for you to pay. Today was my breaking point when a friend ordered my coffee and I politely asked if it was the correct drink with the ticket because THEY wrote LEE instead of LEA and there was a man looking at the same drink. The barista looked at me and kept repeating "thats what it says" when I was trying to explain the difference in spelling and that I didnt want to take someones drink. She then just said '"oh, yea it's Lea" and walked away. Not sure if it's because im a minority or what because I have seen them interact but not me for some reason even though I visit almost everyday and say hello and thank you. I am clearly not valued at this location and will not return.

Our preferred coffee in town, even better than other Van Gogh locations. My favorite is the salted caramel latte but the beans are good

Atmosphere: Joe Van Gogh is a staple coffee establishment in Durham. This location has a few tables and a bright loft area. If you can snag a spot, this is a great place to get some work done. Service: The baristas were friendly, and we received our drinks quickly. Food: We tried the Honey Almond Latte, Vanilla Latte, and London Fog Scone. The almond flavor in the Honey Almond Latte is very strong, so we'd recommend it if you're an almond fan! The Vanilla Latte was solid and wasn't too sweet. The London Fog Scone stole the show for us though -- its pronounced tea flavor offered a uniquely delightful experience! Overall: Joe Van Gogh is a well-loved coffee spot in Durham. While this may not be our first choice for a study session or a long coffee date (due to limited seating), their drinks haven't disappointed us!

Joe Van Gogh impressed me from when I walked in to the product and well afterward! Highly recommended! Details below. I was visiting from out-of-town and stopped by. The cortado was excellent! Staff and vibe were awesome--friendly and low-key. Also had drip coffee (Red River) which was a tasty hand-crafted medium-dark roast. The London Fog scone was very good +++, with a well-balanced lavender note, and a short crumb (I'm super-picky about scones, and I'd get it again, but an "excellent" scone would rock my world). Also bought some beans and got a quick online response to a question about fine-tuning my French press method for that blend. Keep doing what you're doing!
