The menu was well labeled. Tried five different things and everything was delicious. In particular recommend the bok choy and the general Taos tofu! Updated from previous review on 2026-01-29

We made a quick decision to have lunch here with little time to get to our reservation time. I made the lunch reservation while we drove from a Duke appointment. It was near the end of the lunch service. We were greeted warmly and told what time the kitchen closed but we could take our time dining. We had more than enough time to review the menu and make our choices. As always, the food was delicious and the service good. We love this place!

Noticed a decline in the quality of taste over the last 6 months. I’ve done dine in and take out more recently to try and give this place another chance. I went from eating here weekly to not really desiring it because food quality has gone down. Super disappointed. I used to bring all my out of town friends and family here but have since had to find another reliable and consistent spot.

The drinks have stayed consistently good. The bartender knows what he’s doing and does it super well.

Also saw a manager very rudely make a woman and her elderly mother to get up from the bar because they didn’t have reservations. Those seats looked available and there wasn’t anyone at the front to direct them so they seated themselves. I understand they’re a busy establishment but there was a better way of asking the pair to wait for an opening. It was extremely rude and like the food, also left a bad taste in my mouth after witnessing that.

Such an excellent find on our few days in Durham. High marks all around - atmosphere, service, food...
My husband even referred it to his medical conference group, so they dined there for a larger gathering.
Diverse small plates and mains were all very well prepared.
A great concept, executed perfectly...

Love this place when I am feeling some Asian Fusion Tappas! 💯. Great food, love the sleek modern atmosphere. Been here 4 times and service was always pretty good. Some might find it a little pricey as they do serve better quality food IMO, and parking here can be a bit of a pain, but all in all, it checks all the boxes when it comes to great food and a unique experience. I would come here more often if it wasn’t so far from where I live.

Juju's food lived up to its reputation! Our service was decent, though we had to ask for some essentials. It wasn't a deal-breaker, though.

It was a perfect meal. Great cocktails, every dish was delicious, and even dessert was excellent. Truly a rare occurrence. Definitely on our list to come back to again.

Fun local place in the middle of everything on 9th near Duke East Campus. Good for a quick bite at lunch or a romantic dinner. Nice outdoor seating in good weather. Love the short rib wontons.

Always a delicious experience, the only restaurant in the triangle where I have never disliked even a single dish! And I've been coming for years.

this was our second time at juju with many years in between - service was quite excellent and everything we ordered was very very good (don't miss out on the shrimp dumplings) EXCEPT, the tiny, tiny portion size of the fried oysters was literally shocking as it was an expensive plate not an appetizer - try anything else ;-) I am hoping to hear back from their management about the five small oysters for about $25 though I didn't say anything at the time

Wonderful beginning to the end of 2025! We tried a couple of dishes we had not tried before that were delicious - tea-cured salmon and crispy potatoes.

Juju is a popular Asian Fusion small plates resturant on 9th in downtown Durham. Go for the service, the pleasant modern atmosphere and the vegetables. With beautifully plated food and the high prices to match we were expecting some memorable bites, but found JuJu was more style than substance. Dishes were underwhelming and forgetful and some of the meat preparation lacked the skill expected in fine dining. Nothing was bad. Simply forgetful. What JuJu does well? The herb salad on the charred octopus and the cucumber salad were a real treat. We may go again just to try a few more vegetable plates. That's where JuJu shines. All in all a nice experience but with much tastier fine dining in town, at this price point, I would recommend spending your dollars elsewhere.

My wife and I had a great experience here. We went on short notice and ended up making reservations for the bar, not really knowing what to expect, but it turned into a really enjoyable night. Danny was fantastic and made us three different margarita variations, all of which were excellent. His service struck the perfect balance: friendly and fun, but also respectful of our time to enjoy dinner and private conversation.

The tuna bites, tuna stack, and lamb were all outstanding (definitely make sure to eat the garnish “salad” with the lamb 😄). The only thing I probably wouldn’t order again is the wontons, but everything else was spot on. We’ll definitely be back in the future.
