* ADA UNFRIENDLY!So insulted, my date and I walked out. We somehow offended the hostess and other staff by forcing them to do what their job description requires them to do. It’s a sad day when the staff is groaning and eye rolling over a simple request. I have a bad back and the high top tables don’t work for me, can we sit in a booth? No, that section is closed at 8:30pm. I asked her to ask a manager and that didn’t go over well. So if you have to park in handicapped parking, don’t expect ANY accommodations or even a polite and respectful “ no “. I gave a fantastic review last time I ate here so I was hopeful to catch the five star magic again. A pair of bad hires set the tone for my neighborhood Kanki from fantastic two months ago to rude and insulting. I was absolutely presented with the what the hell are you doing here asking me to feed you and your date “ attitude “ so the hours of operation are they posted open till 9:00pm. But at 8:36pm. Everything is closed and blocked but the high top tables at the bar. For disabled people, well tough poo, delivered by hostess and manager. The posted 9:00 pm closing time is a lie. I guess it’s only for the door dashers. Just be honest and say to go only after 8:00 pm. That would have saved me the public insult.Some adults own this restaurant but they choose very young people focused on getting rid of the customers especially the old ones so they can walk out at 8:59pm.I regret that my last review was so positive based on one visit. So please reduce it by 50 % based upon tonight’s sub McDonald’s experience.Jim Boyle KF4COO

Have really went down hill. Prices go up, choices go down, and the wait staff they hire now is pathetic. To get a fresh drink and refills seems impossible. We used to go once a month, haven't been since December and won't be back anytime soon. Not to mention the wait times are ridiculous. Won't be long before business dwindles off if they don't change

Rude staff. I was the only black person at my table, 5 were Latino with my spouse being one, 3 were Caucasian. I was not at the end on either side of our table. He skipped me when serving food each time and gave my portion to someone else. He had no intention of rectifying the situation until I said something to him. It was intentional and not part of the show. This is the 2nd time the same chef has done this to me. This is unacceptable .

My curbside order said it’ll be ready at 1:03 and so I call several times to get an update on my order just to have to GO INSIDE 30 minutes later after waiting just to be told “oh it’s because it’s Easter it’s busy” well then don’t say the time will be one thing if it’s not! Horrible horrible reason and in no way to tried to correct their error. If I had time to sit for 30 mins I would’ve went inside but I did curbside for a reason. I’m good on this place.

Food was ok.But I'm here for the serviceWhich was terrible. Waitress didn't state her name or greet us. Never came back for refills. If you asked for anything she just looked as If she was irritated. By the end we saw the manager which we had to ask to get to go boxes and things of that nature. I have worked in the food industry and I understand things can get busy and it's a team, but this was def a terrible dining experience for a birthday gathering. Also a party of 8 so 18% gratuity was added which would have been fine if we actually had a decent waitress. This was the chicken hibachi :(

If you’re hungry, don’t listen to what they tell you and get you a table and not the grill. We were told 15mins max was all we had to wait, took more like 40mins before the cook came out, and tho we were the first at the table, we were the last to be served, and then he forgot about my mom and didn’t give her her shrimp so extra wait. The waitress were sweet, the food was ok, but if you’re in a hurry or hungry, get you a regular table.

BEWARE! Walked in and walked right back out. Went in for sushi needed a regular table they only said they are offering high top tables. Even knowing they had at least 25 standard table empty. We stated we need a high chair for a 2 year old and was told no they cannot accommodate us. I then asked what if I had a wheelchair, how would I eat here. The woman who said she was one of the managers said “I don’t know” so not only could we not eat, they cannot accommodate anyone with needs.

The person who took our order was nearly nonexistent during our meal. When water needed to be refilled, we had to wait until she delivered salad, etc. Later a couple of our group member wanted another glass of wine. Of course we had not seen the wait person since salad, etc were delivered. When the Chef arrived, he had to clear away used dishes before starting our meal and he had to ask another staff member to have the waitress to come back to the table for the additional wine order. The Chef was absolutely excellent. Fun to watch, have brief conversation with and prepared a wonderful meal. The Chef was terrific. The waitress, not so much.

I travel down from Norfolk Virginia and wanted a Japanese experience with a couple of colleagues, we decided to try this restaurant, Had a great server (Mathias) and an extremely talented chef (Hector). this establishment is lucky to have workers like them because a bartender (David)that claims to be the restaurant manager left a bitter taste in everyone’s mouth. He is not as professional, as you would expect in such a highly regarded establishment because of his nonchalant and discarding attitude I would never eat there again Because of him, I will try plenty of restaurants that surround the area and never return to Kanki because of how he treated us.
