Everything was just good not great. Cocktails are WILDLY overpriced. Appetizers were the same way. Entrees were tasty. Salmon with the mango salsa was the best thing we got. May return if they change drink prices.
Great food! A little slow on the service front to greet us, but after that the service was excellent!
We enjoyed our meal, it's a warm and welcoming space with a terrific bar area, and the cocktails were delicious. I think they're having a few teething problems that will likely get sorted with time. The starter menu had two fish dishes (it's a seafood restaurant). They were out of one, so we ordered the other. A while later, our very friendly server told us they were out of the other one too. It was excellent that they gave us some complimentary truffle fries to apologize. The other fab thing is that were giving a 50% discount on dessert to those heading to DPAC for a show. I think that going to the bar during the week from 4-6, when they have half price appetizers, would be fun (as long as they don't run out of fish!).
This was our first time dining at Nerra. The food was very good, and the service was excellent! Of our party of 4 , three of us had a fish dish and one ordered the jerk chicken. All of us were pleased with the quality and presentation of the food. We sat in the enclosed porch with ceiling heaters and were comfortable despite the frigid temperatures outside. Two in our party ordered the bourbon and pear old fashioned cocktail... highly recommend that!
Subtle date night for me and hubby. We made reservations back in early December & on the day of we almost didn't make it to our reservation due to Sunday reset and relaxation... quickly decided why not go and that was the best decision. Andrea in fact was our waitress and she was amazing. The food was delicious and our dinner was a slow burn with nothing but savory taste and slow bites. Highly recommend and will return. Don't forget to try the desserts 😊
The seafood was delicious. We were disappointed in the taste of the breads & muffins in the bread basket. The dessert we wanted was not available.
Really enjoyed my experience at Nerra. We ordered the whole roasted fish of the night which was the Red Snapper and it was amazing. Chef Lex and her team killed it! I will be returning to try other things on the menu.
Everything we got was incredible. Apps, drinks, main courses, and desserts. Presentation was 12/10. Will definitely be back!
Four of us went for my Birthday on a Sat evening. Was seated at reserved time. The food was delicious, it came out timely and hot! We had the truffle fries, brussel sprouts, and wings as appetizers. We ate it all! Lol Drinks were strong and tasty. We had sweet tea and mixed drinks. For our main meal, we had the gumbo (did not have pork :-) that came with white rice and corn bread, baked whole fish (seasoned all through :-) and seafood pasta (large pieces of seafood :-) The meal sizes are great as we all left with a take home bag. For dessert we had the apple pie with vanilla icecream and the crust was flaky, apples were cooked perfectly and ice cream delicious. Ambiance was beautiful, loved the lights and decor. Staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Loved that a Manager and the Chef comes to your table to make sure that everything is good! Will definitely be recommending to others and coming back soon for some another great time with delicious food. This place is a great welcome! Luv it!
The service was wonderful, the food was okay. The seafood pasta made with elbow macaroni was unexpected; I had anticipated a more traditional choice like fettuccine. I also found the calamari overly salty. Given the price, the portion size felt too small.

Overall excellent. I deducted one star because We Ordered two sesame crusted tuna. One was overcooked, but they quickly offered to make a new one, which they did. Also ordered the shrimp and grits and crab stuffed mahi. Everyone enjoyed the meal. Sides, bread are extra. We will come back. PS- ask for parking code for lot next to the restaurant, we missed that part.
Food was incredible but the service was lacking. It was NYE and there were some big parties but I didn't get my drink until after we finished appetizers.
Overall a solid experience. My salmon was more superb almost remarkable, but my friends beef skewers were tough and chewy. Nigel, our waiter, did a nice job. I was a bit concerned when I called the restaurant several times over the few days before our reservation to ask a question but no one ever answered the phone or returned my call. But it was all ok in the end and the meal was above average. I would definitely come again.
Had a reservation and were seated right away. Service was quick, attentive, and responsive throughout the meal. The cocktails were excellent, and the tuna crudo appetizer was very tasty. For the main course, the seared mahi with sun fire salsa was cooked perfectly, and the shrimp and grits did not disappoint. Overall a great experience—would definitely recommend.
Consistency matters! Nerra continues to deliver high quality overall dining experiences. We were excited to have our foodie friends from Utah experience Nerra. Thank you for your presence and availability in our greater food community since we don't live in Durham.
