Lawrence is in the running for best brisket in the State! Its very juicy and you can cut it with a plastic spoon. They give you pickled onions, jalapenos, and sweet pickles as garnish and you can add on any of their great sides. I will be coming back regularly!

$22 for 2 ribs and a chicken thigh is way too much. The beans had too much cilantro. The devils eggs potato salad was fine, but this is way too much to spend on not enough meat. Go to the pizza or Korean BBQ place.
So the owners are also going to say the high quality of the meat and sauce is why the prices are. It's what they do on every negative post in the most dick-ish way.
The food is just not that good. The flavor is mid at best.
Save your money and eat somewhere else

Weird that the owner would respond to this with just a "NO" but based on their responses to others i definitely will not support them and tell others :)
Updated review a year later... it seems their food has really gone downhill and lost it's quality and flavor. The mac and cheese was watery and had no flavor or real cheese. The photos attached are from my first visit, it's a shame this business decided to skimp on ingredients now. The potato salad was mostly eggs with maybe 2 chunks of potato mixed in. The smoked turkey was dry and no flavor. The cashier was also rude which doesn't contribute to an enjoyable experience.

Parking: Great flavor & service. Will be back!

Atmosphere was great, HOWEVER the food was absolutely subpar and unacceptably lacking in flavor. Could've been better without the burnt brussel sprouts.
The cashier was a bit stuck up about what type of meat they have.

Wish the owner nicer also.... Doesn't know jack about how to treat customers lol 😂

Food was good however I had to get the wings because they ran out of BBQ. There is no service, it's a pickup window. Atmosphere was nice but wear a jacket if it's cold because you eat outside.

Don't waste your money. The first time I came here the portions were decent and the food was good...today was a different story. Prices are the same, if not higher and portions have been cut in half. (Look at the most recent review photos and those from 6-10months ago and you'll see for yourself). It's always really disappointing when restaurants start out great and once they have decent reviews bring the quality and quantity down, increase prices and then wonder why they are failing. I hope they can go back to their old ways, but until then I won't be back.

Update: The owner's response makes me very uncomfortable and is a testament to their lack of care for the success of their restaurant.

Absolutely embarrassing portion sizes. I paid for the 2 Meat Plate ($22) with an up charge for the Ribs ($1) and Brisket ($2). The plate comes with 2 sides. The value for this food is some of the worst I've seen in a while when compared to others in the BBQ business. My total was nearly $30 dollars and the plate I was handed was laughable. One slice of Brisket and two Ribs after paying an up charge for an already over priced plate. I will not be returning, this is shameless price gouging.

Response: You seem to be making a miscorrelation between trying to eat cheap and getting value for the money given. I don't mind and often pay a premium for food but there is an expectation of satisfaction when paying a higher premium. Value is a perception and this can be easily solved without destroying your margins. Maybe consider reworking or adding an option to the menu (Sm and Lg plate sizes or a special bundle that implies a large portion in its name, it costs more but includes a generous amount of food) to accommodate people who want more. The issue isn't the quality, the food was good but once the $25 line is crossed, portions should accommodate larger appetites. It's understood across the board that BBQ is going to be more expensive when dining at a restaurant but most compensate the cost by not letting you leave hungry.

STAY AWAY FROM RIBS not worth it at all. Other food is great though (but expensive). We go here often and usually get the pulled pork. Love the outside atmosphere. But Today I ordered the ribs and was super disappointed. $15 for 3 tiny ribs, some pickles, and a slice of untoasted white bread. After finishing I was still hungry. Don’t waste your money… so sad. Always a great experience every time I go. Boxyard is just an awesome spot all around. Lawrence Barbecue crew always greets you with a smile. Every item on the menu is stellar. Any time there's a special on the board, GET IT. Hospitality is also top notch. Its new school barbecue that they draw inspiration from all styles and put their own spin on. The smash burgers, wings, sticky pork ribs, seasoned shoestring fries (because they know those are the correct fries), mac and cheese, and dem brussels are a few of my favorite items that never disappoint. Much love to the Lawrence Barbecue crew!
