So the main reason for 3 star rating was the price. I found it pretty expensive in comparison to other Mexican restaurants in the area of similar quality. All entrees were prices $16+ dollars, with most around $18-$19, even things like Tortas. The cheese dip was like $6-$7. And this isn't an upscale place by any means. It's an average Mexican restaurant. The food was good, the portions were large, the service was decent if a little slow. You can get the same quality for about $5 less a plate for sure

We moved to this side of town and Matatlan has become a place we visit almost weekly. The two people who work there are always so friendly and accommodating. We have a 1 year old and they’re so sweet to her, too! Love this place.

One of the worst Mexican restaurants I’ve been to. The food was truly aweful. I had a cheese enchilada, tamale and a taco. We also ordered guacamole. The guacamole tasted weird, I suspect if had been frozen. The cheese tasted like it had turned, and was not good.they drenched everything with a canned from food lion like red sauce that enhanced the crappiness of everything.When the server asked if it was good, and I told her it wasn’t, she just shrugged and dropped the the $50+ check on the table. What a rip off. So many people left great reviews, but I really don’t get it.

Ordered to be delivered to us. Long story, it had the right address on it. The restaurant wrote the wrong address and delivered it. Our Dinner went to the wrong people. We ordered the dinner, got shafted on dinner, and still had to pay for something we never got to eat. The Restaurant wrote the wrong address; they should have given the money back to us, we did not get the food, and still had to pay for something we never received.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was just as good. The prices are very good considering the amount of food you get. The owners ledia and fidel and the waitress are super nice and welcoming and I recommend this place. The place is also super clean.

Great food here! My parents and I don’t eat out often, but when we do, we look for authentic restaurants that celebrate cuisines from around the world — and this place definitely delivered. You know it’s good when even the chips, salsa, and guac are top-notch. The booths, the food, and the Mexican drinks all came together to give us a great experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic and flavorful meal!
