Nice space. Good hum, but not too loud. Very good service. The short rib empanadas special and the boquerones were both stand outs. The ham croquettes were good, but needed way more ham in them (but the mustard 'sauce' underpinning it all (along with the grated cheese) help make up for that short fall.

The brussel sprouts dish was a disappointment.

I would stil go back to explore more of the menu.

There was a wide variety of tapas. I especially enjoyed the Brussels, sweet potatoes, and dates. It took a lot of plates to begin to get full. The environment was quite loud. I wanted to be asked if it was a social occasion.

one of my favourite restaurants in durham
the paella, bone marrow, pate, and queso frito are excellent.
on weekdays, walk ins would usually work if you go early, though it’s best to make a reservation on weekends/ fridays
service is fine
also they usually don’t accept apple pay

The food was amazing , atmosphere was very loud even upstairs . This would have been my new favorite place and would come back with friend and family except when check arrived they charge 3% fee for using credit card . The restaurant is packed , always ! they are not hurting for money , but they are passing on processing fee to customers instead paying it . This is greed ! They don’t tell people upfront either it’s shows up on receipts in small prints . Very disappointing .

Overall very good. They were able to accommodate a walk in. Try the costillas de puerco. Paid city parking located right outside.

The service was outstanding. My wife eats gluten-free and they took a menu and marked it up for her to make things easy. She also ordered a cider and the first one was too dry, so they replaced it, emphasizing how important it was to them that She enjoyed the beverage. The server was knowledgeable and friendly and attentive. The ambience is fantastic, great buzz in the area. We had a great meal.

Mateo was a fantastic date night. Great variety of food. Big plates in addition to some small plates.

Yummy food, really cute space, definitely a bit expensive especially considering the tapas size of everything

Nice place, familiar if you've travelled to Spain.
We had patatas Braves, excellent, the clams dish we found the clams were a little chewy, the costillas were very good and the chicken croquettas were full of flavour if not the traditional shape.
Worth a visit.

Mateo always delivers! We brought out of town company here for their first time, they were blown away.

The food was average. The bar height stools were small and uncomfortable. The waitress started rushing us when we didn't order more food. We had another glass of wine and express martini (which was the best part of the meal).

Great food! It was our first time here, and it won't be our last. The service was excellent, and we enjoyed a variety of small plates, loving them all. We especially liked the albondigas and the arroz frito.
