They did some catering for work and everything was amazing. Wasn't anything left after about 15 minutes lol. Definitely recommend 👌

I never accept orders from this restaurant because no free parking for delivery drivers .
Called the number listed on the website to order takeout. Whoever answered the phone was not at the restaurant. Most places you would expect to hear “thanks for calling ___, what can I get for you?” Instead, some dude who sounded like he just woke up answered with a “hello”. I asked if I was speaking to Mavericks, and he answered yes in a very annoyed tone. He took my order, and THEN explained that the calls route to his personal phone when the restaurant is very busy. Okay… I’ve never in my 30 years of ordering takeout ever run into this. I arrived at the restaurant to pick up my food and the place was pretty much empty, with one server running tables and front of house. She had no record of my order and said that the owner was trying to contact her with my order, but she was too busy to pick up the phone. I immediately walked out, and I’ll never be walking back in. This place is clearly unprofessional and I wouldn’t recommend doing business with them.

Took my inlaws from up north here cause they wanted some NC BBQ and to explorer Downtown, i know they used to have a smoker out front cause im a devines regular, it being gone was a red flag. I should have taken them to one of the local mom & pop joints that smokes and serves with love. I've had BBQ around the country & know a thing or 2 about it. This place is just a downtown food gimmick, terrible dry BBQ with no life in it, Terrible service and management. Apparently they don't like criticism either based on other reviews. NC is famous for its BBQ and this place does not reflect what we are about. Avoid

I had Uber bring me the 3-meat combo. Brisket, chicken, and ribs. The sides - bourbon beans and Cole slaw which was the best part but I think they were canned, not homemade. I tried to eat it but after a few bites I disgustedly dumped nearly a full tray in the trash. None of the meat tasted like real smoke. More of a chemical liquid smoke “flavor” that permeated all 3-meats. Brisket and chicken was dry and the ribs had chunks of gristle and bone that, of course, were not eatable. Maybe if I had been there in person, saddled up to the bar and run up a $200 tab before ordering I might could have enjoyed it, at least the drinks anyway. If you want really good, slow wood smoked BBQ… this ain’t the place.

Walked in when they only had two customers sitting out front… and it was as if I was about to rob the place or something… they seemed scared to speak to me. Stood there about 5mins before the two guy at the bar decided to acknowledged me…. When customer walks into a place of business the standard protocol is to greet them right?? Even if you’re busy doesn’t take much effort to open your mouth and speak… I’m not sure why they were being so weird… I couldn’t even tell if they actually worked for the restaurant by their attire. The people in the back making the orders just starting at me as well but nobody seemed to be properly concerned or communicating with each other about the money that was waiting to be spent that just walked in… you lost a potential customer with this poor service… maybe they didn’t want my money or like my kind? Not sure but to act as if you’re so busy when there’s literally only two customers in your restaurant is crazy work! lol only good thing was the pulled pork sandwich, the hush puppies were room temp like they been sitting out and I asked the guy for Bbq sauce and seemed as if he was struggling to manage attending to the other two customers and myself… The other taller younger guy never even spoke to me and walked right past me a couple of times lol. Great job! Because if he’s a manager that attitude says a lot about this place of business… not going back, just wanted to let ownership know this type of stuff will kill your business, might want to address it and maybe that’s why on a Friday at 1:30 you only have two customers in your restaurant lol

I was having a pretty bad day and Hannah took really good care of me when I came in for a late lunch. The food was solid but the cherry on top was the amazing service!
