Amazing food. The lamb is delicious. The chicken gyro is delicious. The staff is super friendly and fast. Great place tucked away in a neighborhood in Durham but it’s worth the trip if you like Med Food.

The chicken was a bit dry in the shawarma.

Great Mediterranean restaurant. We had the chicken shawarma and falafel pita. We also ordered a three-dish side of hummus, baba ganoush and a fava bean dish. All the dishes were great and we'll be back again soon.

Absolutely fresh and delicious food, high quality, the service was perfect, there are really high quality grocery items here. After we devoured our delicious lunch we bought more food to go and some amazing olive oil. If you don’t like it here, I can’t help you!

I have this tried this place years apart and sadly I remembered why I haven’t come back in a while. I was hoping for decent food but it was not. MIDeteranean grill and grocery has an atmosphere that’s very casual and hole in the wall type but the food doesn’t justify that. I got chicken and beef kofta platter with vegetable biriyani (didn’t get the biriyani ended up getting the regular rice which would be okay but the rice was not good)
The kofta was good , it’s hard to mess that up. But I legit almost choked on how dry the chicken was. Very minimal flavor. Seemed like they just heated it from frozen. I also got hummus and that was pretty solid. Their babaganoush was OK and over seasoned. They put orange ish sauce that I assume is their hot sauce all over the platter and that was also pretty mid.
Inside the atmosphere was just alright which is also OK but it felt so stuffy and Smokey.
They use very cheap materials - such bad plastic forks and spoons that are fragile and styrofoam plates so flimsy my food was dropping cause it wouldn’t hold all the food.
This place has a 4.7 but it was my duty to make sure that a rating that height isn’t given to just anyone. It was at best a 4.0 and not even that.

The food here is consistently fresh, good quality, and well made. Lots of gluten free, vegetarian, and dairy free options. The staff here is friendly and helpful. A great casual spot for lunch or dinner with reasonable prices.

During our first visit to Durham we were recommended this eatery as a hidden gem. It was amazingly good. My wife and I had a falafel platter and chicken kabob with sides. Large portions, low prices, and I have never had better versions of falafel or chicken kabobs in any city. The spices were perfect. The eggplant side had a slightly sweet but amazing taste. I finished with the best baklava I have had in 20 years. The grill is a little out of the way, they have inside and outside seating, but well worth the trip

Wonderful gem of a little Mediterranean restaurant tucked away in a small shopping plaza! They have delectable authentic food, served hot, quickly, and in quite generous portions! I wasn't familiar with all the spices and sauces, but WOW! I ended up getting three kabob platters to go. Everything was supremely delicious! I wish I lived closer so I could visit every day. I also really enjoyed getting to browse the grocery section for some additional goodies to bring home (especially the guava nectar juice!). The staff were pleasant, helpful, professional, and polite. The seating area was small and unremarkable, but there is some covered outdoor seating available as well. Parking was ample and close. The restaurant/grocery store is not easy to see from the parking lot, but it's very close. I had a craving for Mediterranean food while out running errands, and I'm so glad to have discovered this great hidden restaurant/grocery store. I can't wait to go back!
