Metro 8 is my go to spot at least weekly. It's quiet and the service is awesome! All of the food is good. The mushroom soup and lamb chops are my favorite. Definitely try them out.

We went on a Tuesday night for pre holiday family dinner. Food was good but not exceptional. We felt rushed at 7:30 to order. Not because of a line but because they seemed to be closing early. Not many people there. Would go again for lunch but not a special occasion.

Fantastic in every way. Steaks and sides were awesome. Get the house special with their special sauce--it'll make you hate ever having steak without it again. Even the bread and butter is an elevated experience. Service was great too but the bar is a touch slow. 10/10 recommend

I've been a fan of metro 8 since it was located on 9th street. We celebrated our wedding rehearsal dinner there in 2009, and have had numerous other work-related events there. My wife and I had dinner here a few weeks ago for the first time in a while. Since moving to Wake Forest, we just don't get to Durham very often. It did not disappoint, The lamb chops are still perfection. The provoleta great as we remembered, and always a good wine selection. Frank and Cassie are awesome as well! You have to give it a try.

I have been wanting to go here for a while and waited until my parents were in town for a birthday. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing, and I try to only support local businesses so it's a bummer. It was pretty dead on a Tuesday evening - only a couple of tables, so it was quiet and nice lighting. There was a lot of servers who were nice, but it felt like someone was constantly asking to take our plates while we were still eating or grazing app while waiting for food (sub-par spinach artichoke dip :( and eventually they took our plates without asking when we weren't done. My dad loved his churrasco steak, said it was very flavorful. My mom's filet was just okay, not much flavor. I don't eat beef, so I got the caper chicken and honestly, it was inedible. I ate a few bites and have never not been able to eat a meal but I couldn't do it - I told my server it was quite awful and she just said ok and walked away. And they did nothing for my birthday.... incredibly disappointing for $150+ meal... wish I'd chosen somewhere else and probably won't go back.
The food was fantastic and so was the service! The creamy mushroom soup was one of the best soups I have ever had.

My friends and I came here for dinner and Cassie (who if I’m not mistaken is the chefs wife) was soooo hospitable, had great recommendations and made a mean Old Fashion and Manhattan! She made our experience an exceptional one. We ordered a variety of items and we were not disappointed. Oh and the butter for the rolls. AMAZING! This was my first time and it will not be my last. This was our first time at Metro 8 and we loved it. Our server Matt was very pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. Our food was fantastic. Would definitely recommend to others and I am sure we will return.
