Shrimp and Grits was fire. I was craving shrimp and grits so I stopped by and I am grateful I did so. My order was cheaper bc Thursday is half off shrimp and grits. I ordered online and got my order to go. Food was ready in great timing, it was well seasoned and it was plated well. The atmosphere was chill and the inside is really pretty. Next time I’m in Durham I will stop by again.

We live in az went to see our almost college graduate daughter here in NC. The food was the BOMB.com. Thier was a lil wait nothing crazy BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT!!!!!. ALL the food was fresh and very well seasoned from the 1st bite to the last. I got the fish and cheesy grits (10/10) french toast with fresh strawberries 10/10, my girl got the wings (9/10) and our daughter got idk cuz she ate it so fast. But their home made strawberry lemonade wasnt liquid diabetes like most black owed food spots. It was really good she said. Other than not having ice, and the wait time it was the Bees Knees

We made the trip from Maryland to Durham for Senior Day at NCCU and stumbled upon this gem thanks to a tip from the gas station across the street. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Although she wasn’t even on the clock, Ni-Quawna went above and beyond to assist us at the kiosk. Her positivity and attentiveness made us feel truly cared for. She ensured we had everything we needed with a smile. Now, the food… absolutely incredible. The French toast was so perfectly sweet and buttery, it didn’t even need syrup. The BBQ wings were packed with tangy flavor. Honestly, evvvvvverything we tried was delicious. This spot is officially on our must-visit list whenever we’re back in town!

This place is such a Hidden Gem! If you want delicious home-cooked tasting filling breakfast this is your place. It's not fancy but it's full of a warm homey vibe. The owner, cook staff there is hard-working, friendly and inviting.
Best thing it's not only absolutely delicious and filling but also super affordable. I went and ordered the two breakfast sandwich deal with coffee for $7 and it fed both my dad and I. No I'm not kidding. I'm for real.
If you have teenagers in your house like I do who ordered two meals when they go out to eat, this is the place to go.
The bacon was cooked absolutely perfectly. I have to go back soon to have their home fries. I could have eaten an entire plate of just home fries. I had one off of my brother's plate and now I'm going to be craving that for the rest of the week.
No flashing sign to find it so drive on into the strip mall and it's halfway down with a little sign that says kitchen and a fluorescent open sign. You won't want to miss this place. It's a real authentic gem and no I'm not kidding how cheap it was. 🍳🥓🧇🥞💎💎💎💎💎

This chicken sandwich had bacon and avocado on it and I was in heaven. Soooo good.
My family and I planned to spend time together for brunch. We chose Nzinga, because we wanted to go somewhere we had never been. The place didn't look busy. Yet, it took over an hour for most of my party (9) to get their food. My daughter sent her sausage back 3 times, because it was not hot. They ask for your name with your order. Yet, when they bring the food to the table, they don't have the right name with the order. My salmon cake was flat. My sister's was nice and thick like a salmon cake is supposed to be. The bacon was super crispy like a pork rind almost. The people behind counter kept apologizing for the food taking so long and said the reason was due to high volume door-dash orders coming in. We wanted to support a black-owned business, but we will NOT be back. To take care of online customers before the actual customers sitting in your establishment is poor customer service, in my opinion.
Great breakfast spot with clean and comfortable environment.
I have been wanting to try this spot since moving to the area. I finally had the chance today and was pleased. I was greeted immediately upon entry by a nice man, who even asked if it was my first time and provided instructions on how to order. He was very welcoming! I then placed my order with another man who was also nice. He came to check on me and even offered a sample of their version of cabbage, made with spices from his home country of Zimbabwe. I appreciated that especially since the cabbage was vegan and tasty! I decided to get the shrimp and grits, a side of eggs with cheddar and a strawberry lemonade. The eggs were scrambled well, hot and exactly how I like them. The shrimp and grits were hot, seasoned well, and the perfect consistency. The lemonade was delicious also. If I had to leave one critique I would omit the additional season salt sprinkled atop the shrimp. It made the dish a bit more salty than I like but without it, chef's kiss! The restaurant itself was clean, had afobeats playing and an overall great atmosphere. I would definitely be back to try their other selections because their soul food looks delicious also!
Ordered Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich with fries and Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with Cajun Grits. The chicken and fried were like they were re-cooked very small in size. I was not able to it the bread b/c the chicken was cooked too hard. Totally not pleased.
