This place is going downhill. It looks to be under new management and it’s been horrible. The service is terrible and they never have fresh food. I won’t be going back. I was trying to give them a chance but it’s truly not worth it

Man, I been in NC close to 2 yrs. Most places that were good when I got here are closed. I went to this place last month, but unfortunately I walked in literally 30 seconds after they got robbed. They closed the spot down, but I didn't forget how good the food looked on the serving isles. I was oblivious and still tried to order. Weeks later I went back. Got the meatloaf, greens and mashed potatoes and gravy. 10 out of 10. Today I got 2 platters. Fried chicken and another fish (whiting) platter. Cabbage, string beans, backed mac, potato salad and hush puppies. Man that was the food you get after a church revival or Mothers day I remember growing up in NJ in Church!!! My Goodness food was BOMB!!! I just finished my left overs. Hence the review!

I had the flounder with mac and cheese and green beans. The food was well seasoned. Large sized portions. Delicious.
Parking: This is my go to place for fried fish. I always was satisfied with both the whiting and the flounder. I have not tried the other main courses or desserts yet, therefore I can't comment on them.

Food taste has changed significantly. It is still good but not excellent, like it was in recent past. Cabbage head cut in quarter and boiled. Not tasty at all.

The flounder is the best I've ever eaten and the amount you get for the price of 12 dollars is incredible. I highly recommend this place. The barbecue and vegetables are very good too.

Highly disappointed! Food could not have been more bland and tasteless! It screamed “straight-outta-can” then heated in a pot and served up hot & soggy like a therapeutic boarding school cafeteria! Sprinkling of salt and lots might I add, could not rescue this Someone should learn how to cut up cabbage because the cabbage core should not have been in my plate! I will applaud the hush puppies!

The service is usually good but the Spanish woman serving the food told me the one price for the ribs and charged me another. When I asked for a receipt because I was clearly overcharged she said oh I emailed it to you. I pull up the email and just like I thought she charged me a different price then she told me. I take my phone to her and say ma'amI'm gonna keep the ribs but I just want to show you that you charged me something different than what you told me. She then lies and said she told me that price when the other Spanish lady is the one who told me the price. Than she tells me she shown me the screen which was a lie! I asked for a Manger and she told me she's in charge. I ask for the owner and she point at the serve safe on the wall saying it's Mike. I ask when will he be in she said he won't be in. A simple apology for the misunderstanding would have been enough but to lie to my face and be rude is unacceptable. When I go there I purchase a meal for everyone in my house hold. I will never spend another dime there again. Not only am I walker I'm a talker. I will share this experience with everyone I know.
I should have turned around as soon as I saw the flys, flying around inside the food display. The Mac & cheese had an old sour taste, the rice tasted weird, and the yams where straight from the can into the pot WITHOUT any sugar, spices or flavor. When I asked the older Hispanic lady for a refund she refused with a nasty attitude. The food is not the same as it use to be, the customer service is poor, and it's filthy inside. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

The Hispanic lady is rude. I was charged a dollar per container because I wanted my food not mix together. Customers shouldn't have to pay extra. She definitely needs an attitude adjustment.

I used to eat here quite a bit however, they recently hired this extremely rude middle aged Hispanic woman that makes the overall experience unpleasant (She is not to be confused with the younger Hispanic woman as she is extremely nice). Approximately 1 week ago, I watched her tell a customer to "Shut Up!" which almost lead to a fight inside of the restaurant. The majority of Ole NC BBQ's customers are African American so I am definitely not in agreement with hiring people that disrepsect the same group that supports this business regularly. Unfortunately, I can't support this business while she is employed there.

customer service TERRIBLE (young Hispanic lady), baked chicken half cooked and they try to sell food sitting when any real cool/restaurant manager would make sure food is always fresh. One of the owners (Black Guy) can be nasty also with his attitude as if they are doing you a favour to serve you.
