Tried Pei Wei Asian Express for the first time. The food was okay and the prices were reasonable compared to similar spots in the same food court. However, customer service was disappointing, the staff seemed unhappy and unwelcoming. Also, unlike most Asian places that include a white sauce or offer it for free, they charge 50 cents for a tiny cup, even with a $10–$12 meal. Not a great first impression.
The best return on investment in the food court at Southpoint mall. The two item combo is enough food to stuff four people. And it is always delicious and fresh.
The only let down is that every meal is served in a Styrofoam clamshell (that makes two excellent deep plates).
Our teenage cousin always wants to try every other option in the food court and ends up watching balefully as we grind down the mountain of food we get from Pei Wei. Go on, get six tiny nuggets...
