Both my wife and I ate at Picnic yesterday, August 16th, 2025. We had completely different lunches and we both got diarrhea that evening and the next morning today, which would certainly indicate, at least to us, there's something quite dirty and dangerous in the kitchen area. Additionally, when we sat down at the table we were assigned, it was quite dirty and had never been wiped down. On the positive side, our server was very nice. She was very capable and we got our lunches quickly. We are simply grateful we did not get sicker. Lastly, I have never been in a restaurant that had so many personnel standing around seemingly doing nothing.

Pickle fries are great Brisket is good Pork which is their specialty was over cooked and not good. Nasty coleslaw Collards were ok Overall not excited to come back. Maybe for pickle fries
This is a family run restaurant that has been serving real smoked meats and excellent side dishes for over 10 years. The smoked BBQ and Brisket are some of the best I have ever eaten and that also goes for the homemade potato salad and collard greens. The fried catfish sandwich is a two portion fish on one bun because it sticks so far out both sides of the bun. The fried chicken is also a home run as it tastes like your grandmother made it with crispy skin seasoned to perfection. They have both inside and outside dining options and a nice full service bar area. One feature I like is that you can order takeout ahead for pickup at a specific time. Give them a try and you will become a regular customer.

Good for what it is: a pleasant place to get whole hog bbq and local beers. Modest portions on the bbq plate, butI was very disappointed with the hush-puppies which are round like a golfball, and mine were just as hard, tho I've only been there once, so it could have been a bad batch?
