I have been getting a playa bowl for breakfast throughout my work week as much as I can for the last couple months. Adding a bowl as a staple in my diet has shifted my energy levels for the better. The quality of the food is great and gives me sustained energy. The variety of the menu and ability to mix and match the bases of the bowls gives endless combinations so I can keep things interesting while building a consistent breakfast routine that works great. Charlotte, Janet, and Genesis are extremely helpful and kind. They do an amazing job of creating a great customer experience and I always feel welcomed even when they see me so frequently. They have also shared all their favorite combinations of ingredients making sure I keep it fresh. I am really grateful to be able to start most of my days interacting with them. I highly recommend giving the bowls a try, they are delicious and filling, but I also am very confident you will be greeted with a smile and your food will be made with care and intention. Not every business can say that nowadays, and it goes a long way as a blessing to start your day! Thanks Playa Bowl 9th street team!

Not really the original açaí, more like an açai sorbet, and tasteful enough. The topping options are too sweet, and the granola is not a nuts granola, is more like a rice cookie granola, and it is not the best. Blueberries, peanut butter, Nutella, and pineapple do not go with açai, better stick to the strawberry/banana/nuts granola trio.

I love Playa Bowls. I normally go to the Raleigh location, but decided to try Durham’s location. Took forever to greet us when we walked in and to ask if we were ready to order, while the other worker was closing and cleaning up with still being 40 minutes left till closing feeling rushed to leave. Food always so yummy, but customer service was not.

I was here a few months ago with a friend of mines when traveling out there, and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were fast and very friendly I wish I was near here so I could come here every day. I am addicted when I was there this lady was behind the counter she was a brown haired lady named Kat and she was hustling and she was the sweetest left that store satisfied 10/10 I would recommend

A few weeks ago, my coworker and I wanted to celebrate our manager, La'Vonne, for her one-year anniversary in our department. Knowing how much she loves Playa Bowls—and especially the bowls made by Genesis—we decided to surprise her. When I called the store to find out her usual order, I learned that Genesis wouldn’t be in until later. But Blair, another employee, provided outstanding customer service by quickly contacting Genesis to get the details of La'Vonne’s favorite order. By the time I arrived, the bowl was perfectly prepared and ready to go!
La'Vonne’s reaction was priceless, and the surprise was a huge success! As a regular customer myself, I can say that Playa Bowls not only delivers delicious food but also goes the extra mile to make customers feel appreciated.

Love it here! We’ve made it a weekly tradition to come. My fiancé has tried a few different bowls and enjoyed them all, whereas I stick to my go to bowl and love it every time. We’ve also brought friends who now understand our obsession.
The service was good. I was disappointed because the summer specials were gone but I tried a fall special and it was good.

Lots of healthy delicious options. Very friendly staff. Seasonal options I had the fall special pumpkin protein smoothie is has delicious and not to much pumpkin flavor overload just enough to cover protein taste
Parking: Easy to park on the street during morning hours. Fills up around lunch

The last visit was the first time I experienced a large crowd and waiting in a long line. I wasn’t in a rush, so I remained in line . I’m glad I did because the wait wasn’t long at all. Kudos to the staff for remaining cool, calm and working great as a team.
