This is my new favorite place! After trying it the first time, I came in the very next day (the food and service is just that good). The next day, the staff (kitchen & front of house) remembered me and even preemptively sent out the appetizer that I regretted not ordering the night before (for free, so nice). Our lovely server Diane thoroughly and efficiently explained the menu and was just a very sweet person. Not to mention the owner coming out to chat with us! So kind and not something you get to experience much anymore...Also the place is absolutely gorgeous. Very thoughtful presentation of food and beautiful drinks as well. I really can't say enough good things about Plum, I will be back very soon :)

Excellent find after spending the last couple of days at Duke Medical Center for a family member's surgery. Service, food and ambiance were perfect after a couple of stressful days. My sister and I split the strawberry champagne salad. We also had shrimp and grits and the brisket taco. Everything was delicious! We highly recommend the Plum for a relaxing, enjoyable dining experience. I hope we can return on a fun trip to the Bull City!

One of the best meals I’ve had in my entire life. Seriously. If you are considering giving Plum a try, do not hesitate.

Smart looking interior, lofty ceiling, crisp colors, millwork and decor. Knowledgeable servers. The brief menu has winners from top to bottom. We enjoyed a chicken mousse with cherry mostarda, which we shmeared on thick toasted bread. Delicious. The daily fish special was pan seared red snapper (a generous portion) served in a soup plate with a creamy sauce based on sunchokes. We also had a creative interpretation of beef stroganoff in which most of the beef was arrayed on top of the dish in slices, rather than drowned in sauce, exposing the perfectly cooked medium rare meat. The pasta and sauce was rich with subtle spices and flavors, with finely slivered red peppers joining the traditional mushrooms. Dessert was a generously sized rice pudding with house made brittle. It is served warm, yet with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream ready to melt in its warm pudding bath while you make your way through. Share with a friend.

Such an amazing time. The food was incredible (deviled eggs, cheddar drop biscuits, tacos, shrimp and grits, banana pudding) as were the drinks and the service. We will be back!

We hosted a dinner party for 16 people in Plum's private dining space and I could not recommend this place more! Emma was a pleasure to work with from the start - quick to respond and flexible with our group's needs. The guests all raved about the food and service from the entire staff. I look forward to our next visit!

One of our favorite restaurants in Durham. The different flavors are amazing. The menu changes seasonally and they always have different interesting food. Great atmosphere as well.

The owner is an absolute sweetheart. Came to our table to deliver the first dish. Our server Ellie was on point to and very accommodating of my dairy allergy. Many dishes can have dairy removed and still be flavorful and delectable! I must say the pickles were so good and freshly made and pickled. Personally crisp, from a pickle fanatic. These top the list! The inside had great music and very easy to stay for a bit enjoying dessert and a few cocktails! I will absolutely return!

Lisa and her staff absolutely killed it. The biscuits were to die for and the banana pudding was delicious. Try the frisee salad also.

Really a nice find in Durham. Lisa, the owner owner, is on site anddoes a great nice job pulling together Southern faire and adding a twist - in a really comfortable setting.Food > Just perfect. We did 5 small plates and loved everyone. Arugula and barely salad - and chicken liver pate were hits - as well as the pickled vegetables and biscuits. Just one desert is perfect for two people. Banana pudding was amazing.Space > Very pleasing and comfortable. Just a lovely spot.Service > Really sporadic - food arrived before drinks (for small plates and deserts). There’s just a cadence that needs to be nailed right to make it enjoyable and effortless. Needs work.Overall - feels like a wonderful standard bearer to carry on the Southern faire traditions of Magnolia Grill.

Plum is a gem of a restaurant. Had a reservation and was seated promptly. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share and they were incredible. The delived eggs are divine, creamy and sumptuous, the Brussel sprouts were cooked to perfection and crunchy, and the biscuits are fluffy and delicious. Had the shrimp and grits and I enjoyed every bite. Highly recommend in Durham. Lisa does a fantastic job as the proprietor.
