This was one of my goto places for lunch, regularly, until the other day. My standard fare is rice, 2 proteins and then 4 spoons of 3 items, plus sauce and I am done, a very simple lunch. Today I was told that I can only get 2 spoons of any item, no longer can I have 4 of 3 items. So, I can have two of everything on the bar, but not 4 of 3, and there is no option to pay extra. No more Pokeworks for me.

I went on a Sunday evening with a friend. She decided on a build-your-own bowl while I opted for the Yuzu Ponzu Salmon bowl (without cilantro since I have the unfortunate cilantro=soap flavor gene). Portions were good and I enjoyed the flavor combination and textures of my bowl. It was a great place to have dinner before catching a show at DPAC.

Ordered a sushi burrito and the mango dessert through DoorDash. Sushi burrito was warm so the seaweed had turned into mush. Halfway through I opened it and ate it that way. The tuna was too warm for my liking and it gave me the ick. I didn’t finish. The mango dessert with coconut “pudding” was weird. Textures are very off. The mango wasn’t ripe and the rest was watery with a little bit of flavor. Neither looked like the pictures online.

I’ve been ordering from this Pokeworks consistently for months and never had a problem. Today, I tried something slightly different with my food and it was the saltiest thing I have ever eaten. I tried to push pass but I couldn’t so I called and told them the issue. As my office is around the corner the person on the phone instructed me to bring it back so they can fix it.Well today I went in at 2pm and I explained the situation. The 1st woman I spoke to acted as if I came in to beg for a free meal. I explained to her I come in all the time and have countless orders here. She continued to announce that it’s not salty as if she actually ate exactly what I ordered and was extremely rude. Eventually she told the blonde woman next to her to fix my order and she haphazardly through it together. When I asked if she could put it in a bag she handed the bag to me to do it. Absolutely disgusting service and I anticipated better.

I hope this review serves as constructive feedback to enhance the quality of food and food preparation training at this location. I am a loyal customer of various poke locations in Texas and Tennessee, but my recent move to NC and visit to this sole location in the state was extremely disappointing.Issues encountered:- Bones and skin on the salmon. Bones punctured my mouth.- Overcooked and mushy rice, starkly different from the firm sticky rice as standard.- Excessive sauce poured. Note: I always get heavy (3 squirts or so) without issue but I was shocked to see several ounces poured out saturating the rice to the bottom of the bowl.- Cilantro with numerous thick stems, burnt-tasting wontons, and toppings not fresh or finely cut.I believe addressing these concerns will lower the risk of food borne illnesses and increase customer satisfaction. I hope to revisit again in a few months and change my review.Edit: added a photo of the salmon from another persons visit

We tried "their" version of bubba tea... It was simple, too watery, never felt the taste of tea. The bubbas tasted rancid and old not the jelly taste as it should be. I guess this is not a popular item ALTHOUGH they charge a premium price for it. Never again.
My family loved the 4 dishes we got today. All were amazing. Ingredients were very fresh. The restaurant is very clean and well run. The workers were friendly and efficient.
The food was good, but the service was ridiculous. Waitress was rude + had an awful attitude when serving me my food. Recommend Doordashing this place for their crispy chicken bowl.

Pokeworks, why have I been passing you all these months?!? Your food is so fresh and amazing! I was really wanting a lunch that was refreshing and uplifting after a very long day and you provided that! I went with building my own bowl because I am super indecisive! I got the regular bowl with salad and rice topped with shrimp and spicy salmon. Then I added ginger, seaweed, pineapple, wontons, and aoili and house sauces. Omg! So good! Every bite was just as good if not better than the last! I love that the rice was warm too!This is probably some of the best Poke I've ever had and I cannot wait to come back and get more! Also, the service was phenomenal! The gentleman that helped me was so kind and understanding with all of my questions and additions!So go!
