Unsure if we just caught them on a bad night or if it was due to the order being a pick up (I ordered and picked up myself ) but the order was very underwhelming. We ordered 2 entrees and 1 appetizer all were simply beneath average cheese pupusas were EXTREMELY OILY held no form and were more of a blob of melty cheese then a pupusa. Chicken fajita's lacked flavor and portion of protein seemed as though it was the last they had didn’t taste fresh but temperature of food...
Wonderful experience! Really nice people and astonishingly good food. I wish there were more traditional Guatemalan options on the menu, but there's a good mix of food available. We had the chiles rellenos and empanadas chapines, and both were fantastic. Drinks were great - the spicy margarita was very fresh. I hope to see more folks visting El Quetzal. We'll definitely be back!
Great Guatemalan food. I had the fish tacos ; others in my party tried Guatemalan style Tamales and chicken empanadas. All three were great. Even the side of rice with sauce was very flavorful
Parking: Access to the parking /restaurant from the road is tricky. We shot past and had to turn into the next strip mall and double back.
