Ruth's Chris Steak House

It was my birthday and I chosen to dine alone. But the wait staff was very humble, nice and cordial to me. The food has always been superb 👌🏾 to me. Knowing who the manger on duty this particular was extremely helpful. He has always been courteous, polite and on point when it comes to customer and the restaurant. And his name is Jimmy Rodgers, you would know him if you saw him. He has a wonderful personality, you just can't miss...Thank you for my Special Birthday Jimmy, Matt and Gavin...

My first time at this location . And my experience was great from the time we walked in and was seated . My waiter was amazing and so was management. I enjoy the choice of music that was played as well. I'll definitely be back.

My waiter was Bryce and he was terrific. Very attentive (but not too attentive), friendly, polite, and professional. The atmosphere was quiet and I was happy to enjoy a peaceful dinner. My meal was perfection! Not one piece of the perfectly cooked filet with blue cheese crust was left on my plate. The sweet potato casserole was phenomenal of course until the manager kicked it up by showing me how well it pairs with a scoop of vanilla ice cream...oh my that is dangerously delicious. Will definitely be back next time I am working in that area.

WOW!!! Amazing staff and food was AWESOME!!! It was my birthday dinner with my wife and granddaughter...everyone there were amazing from the hostess...to the manager and our server GAVIN WAS SO AMAZINGLY AWESOME!!! We are coming back for Valentine Day Dinner and requested GAVIN as my server!!! This place is by far the best restaurant in Durham!!! God Bless You All!!! Vinny

The lobster tail with the butter fountain is 10/10. Everything that hit the table was perfect and delicious. Including the rose petals on the table!

Peter was our server, and he went above and beyond to make our New Year's Eve and 1st Wedding Anniversary truly unforgettable. His attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine care made our celebration feel extra special. He was hands-down exceptional at what he does. The hostesses were just as impressive—despite it being an extremely busy New Year's Eve, they remained attentive, friendly, and made a point to acknowledge every guest while keeping everything running smoothly. An outstanding experience from beginning to end.

NYE, so we expected it to be busy. Arrived for 630 reservation, didn't get sat until 650. Server came by but didn't take drink orders. Came back and got our drink orders but then we didn't see her again for about 15 min. It was about 20 minutes before we got water and we had to ask for that, and bread. Food was great. Drinks were good. Service and the overall system at the beginning of our visit detracted from the whole experience. After our main course was finished, the server boxed our meals and then just assumed we were done and brought the check. We had to ask for the dessert menu. We wondered if we were our server's last table. For the cost, not worth returning as the experience is equally as important as the food. We are used to a better experience at steakhouses at this price point (e.g. Jeff Ruby's).

The management and staff at this location are top notch, go above and beyond, making your meal a great experience in which you feel taken care of. The food was what you would expect for family style servings with large portions for our family of 5 to share, arrived hot and fresh. The wedge salad was amazing so crispy with lots of bacon and blue cheese-one of my favorite steak house items. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and good natured, so we had an enjoyable time from start to finish. He recommended an amazing Caymus wine that was a hit with my husband and me. Both he and the general manager worked with me to ensure safe options for food allergies. It was a bit busy for the holidays, so we did end up sitting in one of the side rooms with two other parties, rather than the main dining area- this is the only downside for the overall environmental experience. We have been a couple of times as a family and will definitely return based on the exceptional service and food quality.

We had Christmas dinner at **Ruth’s Chris in Durham**, and while the overall environment was comfortable and the staff were warm and welcoming, the food was unfortunately underwhelming.

We ordered three steaks—a ribeye, a filet, and a New York strip—all cooked medium. However, when the dishes arrived, not only was the execution fairly average, but the steak plates themselves looked as if they had been through a battle, with greasy smears and no effort made to clean or present them properly. It was quite shocking and hard to believe this level of presentation came from a restaurant like Ruth’s Chris. Overall, the service and atmosphere were positives, but the food quality and attention to detail did not meet expectations.

The service was excellent and the restaurant is well appointed. We always enjoyed our time there. While the steaks are good, the quality of the steaks and preparing them as ordered has declined over the last couple of years.

We went for Christmas Eve and the food and service were great. My husband and I both got the ribeye steak. It was perfect.
