Seraphine Reviews
Delicious Cousine, fine dining, exquisite! . Thank you, Jenny, in making our first dining excursion in Durham such a delight. Louisiana dishes at its best here In Durham - yes the Fried Catfish, red beans & rice might be a tad better with Andouille Sausage rather than ham but won’t quibble! Yum shrimp and grits. Beignets and key lime pie - how better to end a meal. Good selection of beer and masterful prepared SAZERAC! Sound level inside - tad loud, only negative. Thank...read full review
Everything! Atmosphere, food, drinks, service were all fantastic. It’s hard to believe that is the same space we spent so much time in from 2005 until Tyler’s closed - it looks beautiful! The fountain outside also gives it that perfect New Orleans feel. We were there to celebrate the 27th anniversary of meeting at Pat O’Brien’s , and our server comped us a dessert! Not necessary but much appreciated. The cocktails were perfect, the foods delicious - can’t recommend enough!
Everything about this gem was amazing

Seraphine is a restaurant located in Durham, with a lively yet cozy atmosphere inspired by New Orleans. The decor features warm hunter green walls with gold details, exposed red brick, and elegant chandeliers, creating a setting that transports guests to the French Quarter. Parking is free on weekends unless there is an event, and visitors are advised to inform the parking attendant that they will be dining at the restaurant. The restaurant is accessible for wheelchair users, though space can be tight when full.
The menu is known for high-quality food, including dishes like blackened scallops, shrimp and grits, gnocchi, and key lime pie. Many customers praise the catfish with red beans and rice, shrimp and crayfish croquettes, and the gumbo. The Dragos Oysters are a favorite, especially the broiled Dragos style, which many keep returning for. The restaurant offers a variety of desserts, with banana pudding and beignets highly recommended. The key lime pie is considered one of the best in the triangle.
The atmosphere varies from lively during busy times to calm for special occasions like anniversaries. Outdoor seating is available on the patio when weather permits. The restaurant offers a selection of adult beverages, including the famous "Vieux Carre" cocktail, and the owner, a New Orleans native, is praised for his cocktail choices and knowledge. Service is often described as excellent, with staff being kind, attentive, and friendly. Despite the small space and occasional busy nights, especially during Saturday evenings or events at DPAC, the overall experience remains memorable.
Recent reviews highlight exceptional service, friendly staff, and a tastefully decorated setting. Guests enjoyed a variety of dishes, especially the Dragos style oysters, fried artichokes, duck fat fingerling potatoes, and the banana pudding with black coffee. Many appreciated the fresh seafood, like the peel and eat shrimp, and the attentive service from the moment of arrival to departure. Overall, Seraphine continues to be highly recommended for its delicious food, inviting atmosphere, and welcoming staff.
