This meal was absolute perfection from start to finish. I can't think of a better place to celebrate a birthday. Food, ambience, service all top notch. My first time here, and I can't wait to go back. Kudos to the entire staff!
Appetizers we got 1. Crawfish and shrimp croquettes 2. Fried oysters The fried oysters were nice, but nothing out of the ordinary. The crawfish and shrimp croquettes were under-seasoned. The sauces were carrying the weight of these dishes. For mains, we got: 1. Fried catfish with rice and beans 2. Blackened red drum, crawfish etouffee, popcorn rice The catfish dish had very little seasoning. Rice and beans had no flavor. There were three tiny pieces of fish. There was more breading than fish. The rice and beans supposedly had smoked ham, but you could not taste that at all. When we went, they ran out of red drum, so we got shrimp as a substitute. Yet they still charged the same amount. This dish was also under-seasoned. Portion size was also very small for the price. Not worthy of being on the Michelin guide in our opinion. There are much better restaurants both in terms of taste and value nearby.
The food was outstanding. It was our servers first day but she did a fabulous job! Great place, and we will be back!
We were a party of 8 celebrating our family. Seraphine was accommodating and very welcoming when we arrived. Our waiter Eric greeted us shortly after we were seated and made us feel right at home. Eric's recommendations from the menu and bar were great. We sampled many things however, some of our parties favorites were the fried shrimp(some of the best ever) they were so fresh. The raw oysters with Caviar were a hit. For dinner the highlight was the Red Drum. From the bar the Pear necessities is hard to beat. The ambiance was amazing. Our only regret is we didn't try this gem sooner. We will definitely be back.
Seraphine was a really nice vibe & the bartender was really helpful in explaining the drinks as well as the food menu. I'd definitely recommend!
Beginning with a warm friendly greeting from the hostess, my sister and I enjoyed another perfect Seraphine experience. Hannah took great care of us. The dragos were divine. Congrats on the Michelin accolades. Well-deserved! Thank you!
Such a great experience! Food was incredible and the service was spectacular :) our new favorite restaurant in durham
Be careful if you get seated outside and you end up with a noisy table next to you. We should have moved. Much better to eat inside, better ambience and vibe. The food was great, and our waiter was perfect.
Took my wife to Seraphine for our anniversary dinner. Wanted to try a little bit of everything, but the Dragos style oysters stole the show. Incredible service every moment. Not a single complaint
From the greeting when we walked in to the farewell as we left, this restaurant was exceptional! Great atmosphere and tastefully decorated. Water was brought to the table immediately by one of the many pleasant floor staff and are waitress promptly followed. She went over drinks and specials, and the rose and oysters, (briny and perfect), were both delicious! We were going to DPAC for an event so we decided to have several appetizers instead of full meals, and we were not disappointed! The fried artichokes were amazing and the duck fat fingerling potatoes just made us smile. We had the escarole and lions mane next, both also very good. But the the banana pudding-to die for, and with a cup of black coffee, we could not have been happier! Absolutely great experience!

Very enjoyable meal. - Caesar salad with fried oysters was delicious. Gumbo was great and wine and beignets perfect. A tast of new orleans
When I called, they were very nice on the phone. And when we arrived, they were very friendly also. We enjoyed the Catfish, and Fried Oysters, and the peel and eat shrimp tasted fresh (not farm raised)
Our sever wax excellent and the food was great . We let our waiter know we needed to get to a show at DPAC at 730 and he was very obliging .
I am from Louisiana, so understand my review is in reflection of what I know of food from Louisiana (I grew up in the cajun area near Lafayette and Breaux Bridge). We ordered Broiled Oysters with Garlic and Parmesean. I enjoyed them - they are quite rich and the cheese alone could fill you up. My partner found shells in their oyster, I confirmed it was true. We also ordered the Boudin, which my guess is made in house, because it is different than what I have had back home. While ordering, I asked if the boudin was spicy, the server said No. Even though I grew up in La, I don't like tabasco / jalepenio type of spice. Unfortunately , it was spicy. We did manage to eat about half of it. I would have preferred it not be served on top of mustard and smothered with the pickled onions. I have never had boudin served that way my whole life. Had I realized that, I would have asked for it on the side. We ordered the crab dip ($24, but why not!), unfortunately they had just sold the last one. So, we ordered shrimp and grits. I have never seen a pink sauce on top of a shrimp and grits in Louisiana, so I had to ask what it was. Luckily it was just a tomato puree of sorts (bechamel type of sauce, but that is not what they called it). The grits were wonderful, the sauce was good. The shrimp were overcooked (even charred on the edges). The mushrooms seemed like they were formerly dried shiitake and were not rehydrated as well as could have been, but edible. I only mentioned the overcooked shrimp (which were not eaten, as well as a lot of the other shrimp and grits toppings) to the server. I did not expect or ask for compensation, but was surprised with how management handled it. Would I go back and try it again? Yes, but now I know what to ask for on the side. I would 100% order the grits again without the shrimp/bacon/mushroom toppings. The biggest pet peeve (which I can't hold against the restaurant) was that the server didn't know how to say "Boudin" the Louisiana way.
Seraphine is one of Durham's best restaurants and the service is always 110% outstanding. It is an amazing dining experience and I cannot recommend it enough.
