The food is nothing special but the staff was great and attentive.

Me and my husband went out for dinner at Shiko Sushi, but unfortunately, the experience left us a bit disappointed. We ordered one Pad Thai with pork, one Thai fried rice with chicken, one Crazy Donkey roll, and two cocktails (we forgot the names).

The evening started with us waiting for about 15 minutes with nothing but plates and water on our table. We were left wondering where our drinks were and even decided that if the food came before the drinks, we would cancel them. Sure enough, that’s exactly what happened—two of our dishes (the fried rice and sushi) arrived before the drinks, and we asked our server, Miss Patty G, to cancel the drinks when she came by to check on us.

We started eating and noticed that the fried rice came with pork instead of chicken, but that wasn’t a big deal for us. What really soured the evening was that our Pad Thai never arrived. I had a feeling it wasn’t coming, and unfortunately, I was right. When we mentioned it to Miss Patty while paying, she claimed that she never heard us order the Pad Thai, which was infuriating because it was the first item we mentioned while ordering. To make matters worse, she didn’t apologize or acknowledge the mistake, instead making it seem like we had never ordered it.

As someone who has worked as a server before, I just want to offer a tip to Miss Patty: ALWAYS CONFIRM/ READ THE ORDER BEFORE LEAVING THE TABLE. A quick confirmation could have avoided this entire situation.

On the bright side, the food we did receive was delicious, and the portions were generous enough that we were full with just the fried rice and sushi roll. However, we had gone out hoping for a relaxing evening and quality time together, and this experience put a damper on that.

We might give Shiko Sushi another try for the food, but we’ll be hoping for better service next time.

My husband and I couldn't wait to go to Shiki Sushi on March 21, 2025, as this was our go to restaurant before marriage and kids.We had time to go on a little mini date which is rare. However, The female hostess would not give us a booth even when we asked for an intimate setting. She continued to insist upon sitting us by the dirty wall in the back that looked like we were in a Bathroom; all we needed was a toilet. When we inquired further she told us this was a booth. It was not a booth as we asked and she gave every excuse not to accommodate us even though the restaurant was empty. Her attitude was, "take it or leave it" so we decided to leave. My husband and I then went to Brigs at the Park Restaurant in Durham and they never fail to be wonderful. Food and customer service was great. All people are treated equally there. Shiki Sushi, I will never recommend to my family and friends especially if they are going to be treated the way we were.

Food is consistently good. Not going to blow you away with quality when compared to top sushi places but still - very good.

Service was also good- attentive and helpful.

Quality and Taste has gone sour. As a native this used to be a great place to eat and for carryout...now not so much...

This is not good sushi. It's a small step above grocery store sushi. Nigiri is poorly cut and with far too much rice per piece. And speaking of the rice, it's pretty bad as well. If you want assembly line sushi at OK prices then maybe this is the place for you. If you care about the quality of your fish and appreciate the high level craft of well made sushi then look elsewhere.

Sushi use to be delicious. Now it's underwhelming. Sushi falls apart as you pick it up. I ordered Hibachi and it tasted a little bland. Prices have increased. Quality of food is lacking flavor. We tried this restaurant 2 or 3 times looking for the delicious taste that we use to experience. No luck!

I’ve been going here for years usually for takeout using their sushi special. While my family was in town we went out for lunch and everything was fantastic. The food was delicious and the service phenomenal. We received our bills and were thrilled to find the appetizer could be split 3 ways and we all had made it out decently. That was until the cards were ran and the checks were brought back to be signed. Once received, we found the bills were higher than originally given. We discovered the discount may have originally been applied incorrectly understood how the circumstances could have unfolded. However, to not have been informed of this mistake or change and to have to discover it on our own put a sour taste in our mouths that no amount of delicious food could mask. Unfortunately this will probably be my last visit as there is no telling what could go wrong with my bill next time.

I cannot speak for the sushi, but I ordered the kung pao chicken and it was the most bland asian dish I’ve ever had.

I have been coming to this place for years and have always enjoyed it. However, my recent experience was disappointing. I purchased bagel rolls, and unfortunately, the meat smelled bad, as if it had gone bad. After an hour drive home, I had no choice but to throw them away.

This was frustrating, and I hope this was just an isolated issue. Please take steps to ensure the quality of your food moving forward. I really want to continue supporting this place, but experiences like this make it difficult.

Was not greeted properly. The waitress took awhile to take our order within a smile. We had to ask her 3xs for condiments. Our appetizers weren’t served together as a group. My date finished his appetizer before mine was served. The honey chicken was not tasty. It was a very unfriendly atmosphere. We all agreed we would never return.

Please do not go here! I simply requested water with a lemon from the waitress who was visibly drunk and she had to get our drink orders two more times before finally bringing it. Mind you the waitress also invited her buddies to sit at the bar with her and was on FaceTime, inviting more of her buddies to show up. When it was time for us to order, I requested the miso Ramen while literally pointing at it on the menu and this drunk waitress stated they did not have Ramen here.. when she finally came to her senses and realized that they in fact did have Ramen there I requested the chili she suggested we get for the Ramen and it was never brought out. When I request it for it again, she proceeded to attempt to ring it up and asked “did you mean hot sauce”???? (Mind you she was the one who suggested we get the chili) we once again never received the chili. There were other waitresses behind the bar who were filling up tubs with alcohol to take home their words not mine. They were overall unprofessional. I would have let this all slide if the food was good. The chicken in the Ramen was sooo bland it was as if they boiled it in water with no seasoning. On the menu the eggs were supposed to be ramen eggs they were not and once again they were bland. And the noodles were gummy. The food was waaay too expensive for the quality. Waitress never checked on us. I will never eat here again

I have eaten here twice now. I really like how they clearly mark gluten free items. The first time I went the food and service was fantastic. The second time I went, today, the service was not as good but the food was still very yummy. I will go back, hopefully the we will have a better waiter this time.

The fish was terrible - smelled fishy and was tough. The manager explained they get the fish in twice a week and cut it then. Not how a good Japanese restaurant handles fresh, raw fish. Wouldn't recommend if you want decent sushi or sashimi. I was very disappointed.
