OMG - what a hidden gem! The dumplings - the beef and the vegan burgers - the egg rolls - still dreaming about the foods! A must try!

Got the food truck at Duke, just tried the dumplings and my friends rice noodles. The line was super long so I thought the food would def be fire (it was). The dumplings were really really good and tasted authentic, but I wish they were a bit fresher. When I ordered he just grabbed a box from a heater or smth and they weren't super warm. Next time I definitely want to try the egg drop / wonton soup.

Ordered take out and the food was fantastic! Had the spicy sour wonton soup and rice noodle with vegetable. Delicious
Out of the way place where the customers have been mostly Chinese both times when I visited. Real Chinese cuisine, Beijing style, not faux Chinese food cooked by hired Hispanic kitchen help. Apparently there are many online customers.

This food is so good! I have been working my way through the menu to try each dish and so far every single one has been delicious. The spring rolls, Rice Noodle with Spicy Beef Mushroom Sauce, and pork burger are all amazing.
The hot and sour soup is unique from many others that I have had - it is not the typical thick broth full of mushroom and tofu but a thinner broth with intense spice, sour and málà. It is very flavorful, and one of my favorites.
I also get their frozen dumplings to have later. My favorite so far is the Pork Belly Pickled Cabbage, but they have all been excellent.

Such wonderful food, and unique in this area. Be sure to get frozen additional dumplings for later!
Ordered online for pick-up, First time there. I was pretty confused with where to go and it took a moment to find someone who could communicate with me. They told me to go to the other side so I did but then they came to hand me my take out food. It was a really nice day so i ate on the picnic table outside. I didn't mind the set up but I could see how it might be inconvenient if or when it gets busy or the weather is not nice. I parked easily right in front but there were few spaces.
The food: I wanted to like it but I just did not. The dumplings (pork/chive) were mediocre at best. Very little filling to dough ratio, they were extremely fragile, and the filling had almost no flavor somehow. It needed salt/spices, and it was pretty dry. The sauce was equally lackluster and had almost no taste? Unclear how dipping sauce can be under salted lol. I hoped that dipping them in there would add some flavor but it just didn't unfortunately.
I also had a pork bun. The bun looked beautiful and really well done so I was really excited for it but again, it fell flat. Very little filling to dough ratio and it was just bland-- the quality of the meat seemed off somehow.
Side note: I pan fried the leftover dumplings later at home and made my own sauce, and they were much better.
I have traveled extensively and lived in several countries in Asia and I have a culinary background, so I'm not seeking waterdowned Americanized food or rating them against unrealistic expectations. I was really hoping to find a nice authentic Asian restaurant where I could go regularly, but sadly this just wasn't it. The search for the best dumplings in the triangle continues...

Overall Score – 22 out of 10
This spot is definitely unique—but not necessarily in a good way. It’s tucked off a main road in a partly abandoned area, and the setup raises more questions than comfort. The ordering process happens outside with no real help, and the building didn’t feel welcoming or safe. There were no drinks available, and the restroom situation wasn’t clear. While it may have a reputation as a food truck, the physical location isn’t recommended.
Dumplings – 5.5 out of 10
These were decent. They tasted fresh, but the quality of ingredients felt questionable. Nothing too memorable, but not bad either.

Delicious and authentic food! I had the chicken dumplings and vegetarian noodles. That’s some awesome sauce! (Definitely couldn’t finish, and I’m very happy to have leftovers!)

Food is usually worth the wait but you have to check your order down to the ingredients--the wait is never as short as they say online, and they often mess up orders, so I always check ours before I leave. But we keep going back because their dumplings and sandwiches are so incredibly good.
Update 11 Jul 2025- They messed up order again for what the 5th, 6th time and we can't even get it fixed without going back since no one speaks English well enough to fix it. How infuriating. My husband picked up order instead of me so he didn't check it close enough and they gave us vegetarian noodles instead of the ones with the pork. When we went back, spoke with owner and not the guy who answered the phone. She was very apologetic and acknowledged the order was incorrect and did make it right. She also mentioned she knows she has to do something to eliminate this issue but is still figuring it out. All I can say is food is excellent but carefully check the order down to the sauces you get.
Overall rating due to these repeated issues went from 4 to 1 and then 3 stars. We will still go because food is excellent, but we will be even more diligent checking orders in the future.

Don't get me wrong, I love the food at Sister Liu's especially the pork burgers and dumplings, which I order on repeat. My problem is that my order is sometimes made wrong and I don't get what I paid for. Yesterday I ordered two spicy pork buns for an extra charge. I got one spicy and one regular. Once I paid for dumpling sauce and didn't get it and once I made an online order that didn't go through and I had to order at the shop. I was charged twice for the whole order, but fortunately they refunded the second charge. All I'm saying is double check your order before you leave.

My favvvee dumplings. I get the chicken ones and the shrimp ones. I love the chili soy sauce they give too. Two to share between two people is a perfect amount.
