So here’s the deal… A friend told me that the speakeasy was a wanna be, and I told him I will try anything once. We (3 couples) were greeted with a 20 min wait time to get into the private room. We grabbed drinks at the outer bar. We checked back in on things about 15 min later and there were people trying to get in also. Others without reservations were allowed in before us, so I asked why we were being bumped. The manager tried to say there was no room, so I asked if I could see. After allowing me in, it was clear that there was plenty on room for our party of 6. We were told that we could come back the next night and would be guaranteed a table. Bottom line… do not go to this place. They cater to younger people only. I get it… college town, but we would have ordered top shelf drinks and covered 3 hours of drink value in 30 min. Note to owner: get it together if you want to be something special. A speakeasy is special, and that you are not. Kids sitting around drinking beer is not a speakeasy… really! Expensive drinks, friendly, but slightly slower service, not a great selection of games. Go to Box Car.
What is this? The town of private parties? I guess that’s what happens when you move to a town, cause Durham isn’t a city no matter how much they want it to be, and you live next to a school that only enrolls the over privileged. Just in case you didn’t get it. The bar was closed to a private party full of anglo-Saxon trash.
So much fun and a ton of old school games. Lots of local on tap
Cool bar with arcade games, n64, fooseball, pool, etc. Was quiet during the week so it seemed like we had the bar to ourselves.
Awesome dive bar with friendly staff & decent selection. What stands out is this arcade is way more chill and affordable than the others in town.
A fun bar with pool tables and arcade games in Brightleaf.Remember to ask for drink specials
A group of us stopped by the Architect hoping to get into the "green room" however we were told it was full at that time. We had been looking forward to the speak easy vibe however we still enjoyed ourselves in the bar area. There was great music playing and we danced a bit. Maybe next time we will be able to get into the green room.
Love this place! Always an awesome selection of ciders and of course Mario kart
So much love.

Fun place doesn't seem to get too crowded. Some cool retro gaming and fun Thursday trivia
Was on a high score on pin ball and the breaker tripped. Bar tender
Used to go here for board game nights. The bartender Johnny is awesome. Beer selection was good. However, I probably wont come around anymore though since board gaming isnt a thing anymore and there are other bars with less sketchy people hanging around at night.
Chill place with a good selection of beer and decent pricing. The video games are also not too expensive like some places.
When ever a place does not have a price list customers must be careful because you don't know the price until you get bill and you be over charged, and not prepared or stocked with need ingredients. Not sure if they really as friendly towards all.
