I heard so much about this place I decided to visit on my next trip to Durham. I ordered fried whiting basket, fried shrimp basket and the turkey wing over yellow rice and a sliced of german cake, which I never received with my take out order. The lunch basket came with fries, which was ok. In talking to the staff, I was looking for someone to cater a holiday dinner and this prompt me to try the food. The staff was very nice and eager to provide the catering information. My son said enjoyed the shrimp basket. The whiting basket was a little bland, no favor. The turkey wing over yellow rice was horrible. Although the yellow was ok, the wing was tough, not sure if it was cooked properly. At any rate, I was very disappointed.

We decided to try this restaurant after seeing it on tik tok.. The portion was very good. The food was good . But a little on the salty side. I had the pork chop. Mac and cheese and callard greens. We will definitely try this place again and order something different. Much success with the business

A friend and I had our first visit here. It's a very small restaurant. Two tables are available for seating two people at the table. There's a table outside that can seat four people. A bench inside that seats four people while you wait for your order. Everyone else has to stand. You can order food and pay on a computer screen near the front door or wait until you get to the counter and order with a person. I ordered at the computer while my friend sat at one of the tables as we weren't aware that this is mainly a carry out restaurant. We waited 15 minutes for the food. I had fried chicken wings with mambo sauce on the side, macaroni and cheese, and collard greens. My friend had shrimp, macaroni and cheese, and collard greens. They sell canned drinks. All of the food items could've been seasoned better for a Soul food restaurant. With the restaurant being so small, it's close to where people were standing in line to order. It felt like everyone was watching us eat. The whole experience was ok. It definitely didn't live up to all the hype I saw on Instagram. I'll return and try something else.
