Imagine being in the hospital with a seriously ill relative, going to Starbucks for a coffee to clear your mind, which is not free, it's your money that's worth it, and having to put up with rude and bad-tempered people who think they are giving you things for free. You ask them something and they answer reluctantly. I think you can do better Starbucks. Duke is a hospital. There are people who are worried, even heartbroken, to have to put up with your disrespectful and angry employees who are not happy with their work. It is the worst service I have ever received in my life. Employees who make fun of other people's pain and think their disrespectful and bad-tempered behavior is funny. I think you can do better. Starbucks outside is full of people who do their job well, kind people full of good vibes. Duke, it's a hospital, and as a family member of someone who is dying, it's horrible to go for a coffee to clear your mind and receive bad treatment when you pay for a service. As a Starbucks lover, you urgently need a change of staff.

Edit: Worst attitude. Now I know why Starbucks is struggling, because they don’t care about employee training and how customers are treated.
If you do just the slightly more complicated customization (adding cold foam/creamer), they’ll give you attitude and just skip over your order. What’s more outrageous is that they’ll lie to you. They’ll tap “order in progress” and “done” on their end while in fact they haven’t even started the order. I waited 40min and had to directly request them to make it, and I got eye rolls. If you hate your job this much, just quit. I’m sure there’ll be dozens of people waiting to take your position in this economy.

Constantly lagging behind orders. 30min wait time is standard

Waited 50 minutes for a cortado. The servers are extremely slow. Not satisfied with the experience.

Probably one of the worst experiences I've had at any Starbucks. I placed a mobile order and still had to wait 30 minutes for it to be prepared. I watched the employee attempt to make my drink once and she messed it up. Once she realized she didn't make it right, instead trying to make it again she makes a joke with another coworker and moves on to prepare and take other customers orders. 20 minutes later I received a notification on my phone that my order was completed and ready and it was not.
Next, I politely went to the register to ask another employee (she had purple and orange I believe she had some type of seniority) about my order. Immediately I was met with an attitude and told "there's multiple online orders up and they will call you when they have it made." However, my order was already pulled. My cup was just sitting on the counter. The lady at the register tone and the way she spoke to me was very unprofessional. I've always had mediocre experiences at this location and my drinks are never made correctly.
Unfortunately working nights, you don't have many options when it comes to getting a coffee at 2am in the morning. All I want is my time and money back from this unfortunate event. -1/10 I would not recommend this location. These third shift employees are too focused on gossiping, making incorrect drinks and serving it with nasty attitudes. Retraining and upper management definitely needs to get involved and turn things around.

My sandwich was great, and my coffee was also great. However, the service was not. Be prepared to wait for your coffee and potentially receive attitude if you speak up about it.

I waited 30 minutes for my coffee, and when I asked nicely about it, the woman with the gold ‘Parker’ necklace muttered under her breath but loudly enough for me to hear, ‘There’s only so much one person can do.’ When the woman making my coffee couldn’t find me because she didn’t remember my order (understandable, as they were busy), the ‘Parker’ necklace employee said, ‘Oh, she walked off, that’s her problem.’ I was standing directly in front of both employees, close enough to hear everything. The ‘Parker’ necklace employee continued to rant about ‘only being one person’ and even added that she was purposely saying it out loud to make a point to me.

Unfortunately, it turned out that no ticket was made for my drink, or someone else picked it up. My name was never called, and I watched carefully as each drink was placed in the in-store order section. I even walked over several times to check for my name, but it was never on a ticketed cup. So the issue wasn’t me.

I respect the service industry, having worked in it myself. I understand being patient when a business is experiencing high volumes. But if something is missed, or you’re handling high volumes, don’t blame the customer. I didn’t pay for coffee and wait 30 minutes to receive unwarranted attitude, especially when I wasn’t being rude.

Drinks have been inconsistent at this location. Sometimes good, most of the time not filled all the way, not all of the ingredients included, just laziness. I try to order in between the rush times, but it feels so inconsistent.

Lol... obviously the people that come to this Starbucks are either hospital staff, patience or visitors.

Please hire people who are better at customer service.

Absolute worst customer service out of any Starbucks I’ve been to. Constant attitude and bickering among staff and even with patrons. Complete disorganization. Absolutely will not go back, which sucks since I work in the hospital.

Workers are super rude! They make their own style of drinks instead of keeping things original. When asked to remake the beverage, the staff get super aggressive and super rude.

I am at this hospital every two weeks as my son has stage 4 Cancer and receives chemotherapy at this hospital. I am up most of the night and day, and use coffee to help stay up, but they just can’t seem to get it right even when it is printed clearly on a receipt. I do understand this place is incredibly busy due to being in a hospital but you would think due to that they would be staffed properly and trained properly. Your wait time for a order will be anywhere from 30-40+ minutes so do not rush, if you have a specific order expect it to be missing quite a few things even if they were paid for, THERE WILL BE A LINE even if you use the app and order ahead the time it tells you to head to the store, they do not even Receive your order at that time you will still have to wait another 30/40 minutes after that time. A lot of times you can not even hear yourself think, let alone speak to a barista due to how loud they have the music playing. They need to retrain the staff, and have the proper amount off staff on duty for the amount of customers they have at this business (nurses, doctors, patients, families, etc) I have watched this place over the last year and a half as my son has received chemo, and it has only seemed to get worse, they have received less and less of my business. I really tried to give them the benefit of doubt, but this week they messed up 3 out of 4 of my drinks and too busy to fix them. They lost my business permanently, and my families. You would be better off doordashing dunkin donuts or another place, it would at least come correct, faster, what you pay for, hot, or not melted! DO BETTER you get paid to do a job, so do it.

It took 17 minutes to get a cheese danish on a Sunday morning at 9:15 when there was little activity. It seemed like the staff dealing with the food needed to have their movement battery charged up.
