We came in to visit some friends and they recommended this place for brunch. It was absolutely AMAZING! They were really quick to get our food out to us and our server was very kind and attentive. I got the brisket and grits brunch option and WOW! The brisket was perfect and I'm typically pretty picky about meat quality. I also order grits anytime I go out to breakfast/brunch, because they are my favorite, and these were hands-down some of the best I've ever had! The only ones that came close were what I've had in New Orleans. 10/10 would come back to Durham just for this restaurant! We also got the beignets and my partner got the eggs Benedict with fried green tomatoes + blue crab! Everything was delicious! I just truly cannot emphasize enough how I will be dreaming of their brisket and grits until I can come back again.

It's was a nice atmosphere but pricey and took a bit for food to come. Should have tried something different then the succotash and shrimp n grits. Go with the brisket is what I've heard.

Succotash is a great place to eat. The brisket and seafood are delicious. The staff is very friendly and the overall vibe is relaxed and casual. Always have a great experience there

Great food and service. I thought the live music would be too loud to have conversation but it was perfect. Best fried green tomatoes I’ve had. Companion had the smoked brisket plate which was also excellent

Our group got a little of everything and shared, it was all fantastic! My New York strip was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. The strawberry lemonade was soooo tasty. Can’t wait to go back

To say the food is delicious will be an understatement. It doesn't feel like the cleanest place. The carpets and bathrooms are a concern that you have to ignore if you can.. However, apart from the things they get totally wrong, the things they do get right are fantastic. The food is so tasty, fresh, and delightful. The service was good the staff was nice. So much potential!Perfectly seasoned food and fair portions. I do not recommend the empandas (perhaps the frying oil was old when we went on a Sunday or my palletis not sophisticated enough) because everything else was delicious. An undiscovered gem that I will frequent. I miss the food right now... will go tomorrow but think one can get takeaways.

Tried this place on a whim and was incredibly impressed with it. Everything we tried was absolutely fantastic. The key line pie tart was the right mix of sweet and tart. The red beans and rice was super flavorful and rich. Will be coming back.

I went perhaps a bit unconventional and got the fried green tomatoes plate and added burnt ends. Boy was it delicious. The tomatoes were crispy on the outside but bright and on the inside. Creamy feta tied it all together, and the sauce had the perfect amount of tang and spice.

Kid-friendliness: They have kids meals even though they aren't listed on the menu--chicken tenders, quesadilla, or a burger.

I love this friendly restaurant. I’ve been here numerous times. While I haven’t ordered a PoBoy or sandwich, everything I have tried is very flavorful and delicious. Servings are generous, especially the large gumbo. The side of succotash comes topped with either brisket or sausage. Get the brisket! The specials are often surprising, like the grouper that arrived smothered in shrimp! If you sit solo at the bar the chef might poke his head through the serving window to ask how you’re enjoying the meal. If you like key lime pie, try their version.

The Roasted Broccoli and Smash App potato appetizer were so yummy. I also really enjoyed the speciality lemonade. It rotates. This time it was Rosemary Agave. GET THE Jambalaya it is awesome. Services was great too. The servers were very attentive.
