We had the wings and tots with a few drinks. The wings were cooked just right and the tots very well proportioned. Drinks were decently priced and very good. For a small restaurant in a hotel would come again. Perfect for hotel guest.

I can't remember a more disappointing dining experience. My husband and I were going to a show at the Carolina Theater and wanted to eat somewhere close by. The Marriott is right next door and I had looked at the menu online and it seemed just what we were looking for.Instead, we find out that the restaurant is actually just a bunch of tables and chairs in the hotel lobby. You had to place your order at the bar and be given a number so that the food could be delivered to you. We ordered a chicken caesar wrap and a blackened salmon sandwich, an Old Fashioned and a Margarita (not top shelf liquor) - the bill was $74 and the drinks were served in plastic cups.We waited over 30 minutes for our food and it was brought to us in takeout containers in a paper bag. I've included pictures. The sandwiches were just okay. My husband, who will eat anything, picked at his sandwich and said that the salmon was dry.In addition, the floor was filthy, covered by straw coverings and crumbs. The men's room off of the lobby had no paper towels. And the coffee maker at the bar wasn't working. The two staff members who were handling everything were very pleasant but obviously overworked.

Stayed at the hotel for the weekend. They warned us at checkin that the dining hadorw limited hours.
The bar was set from 4pm-11pm and the kitchen from 5pm-10pm.
We had gotten in around 9pm and a lot of people were just lounging on the area without food, so we approached the bar to ask for a table to eat, they told us we could sit anywhere, then came right over with a menu and took our drink order.
We ordered the Stuffed Avocado and Cheesecake.
I didn't love the stuffed avocado. It was more like salsa with avocado and sweet potatoes and onions.
Obviously that did not pair well with the cheesecake!
So we ate out veggies, cleared our pallettes with our drinks, and then chowed down on the cheesecake served with ice cream. That was delicious. Nothing out of the ordinary, but fresh and served with two spoons to share.
They were very attentive, keeping the water glasses full and asking if we would like more drinks as we would finish.
Overall, recommended!
Distinguish yourself as a person interested in food or drinks, else you will be assumed to be part of the lounging crowd.

Our group ate here last night before going to the Carolina show next door. I ordered tater tots because I didn't want to fill up & I'm glad I did. They were some of the best tater tots I'd ever eaten. No complaints at our table whatsoever and most ordered entrees.?

Great bar. Lovely bald gentleman called Jamie serving, friendly and efficient with a great bar manner. Will definitely be returning when in the area. Good selection on the bar and well furnished bar. Sure the hotel is as well kept and is in a perfect city centre location.
Noah at the front desk is a rock star! Room had many issues: cold water leaks in sink, paint peeling above entry door, missing closet door, poor room lighting, no desk lamp/floor lamp at accent chair, towels were frayed, not enough drawer space, no in room safe, headboard lights were different colors, molded bathroom grout, peeling caulk, need more towel racks/hooks, entry door didn't close all the way, tv didn't work
Had a disappointing stay here last weekend during the Duke graduation. Our clearly dated room on the ninth floor had a large fogged up window, so the view was depressing. Breakfast on Saturday morning was a bit of a disaster. Despite its good location, only stay here if you have no alternative. Marriott should be ashamed to have its name on this property.
We’ve stayed here many times and felt like the quality wasn’t there this stay. The rooms were updated a while back but seemed very dark this trip. Perhaps economizing on light bulbs. I don’t know who Marriott is using to design bathrooms but there are no longer towel bars and the pegs aren’t sufficient. There’s not much bathroom counter space. The bathroom door wouldn’t stay closed resulting in chilly showers. The room is fine for a guy on a business trip but wasn’t great for a couple. We asked when the lounge was an open and was told 247. That was true and appreciated but looked for breakfast 3 times on Saturday before we gave up, we weren’t expecting the usual weekday offerings and saw signs of preparation but abandoned hope at 745. I inquired 3 times about using my free night and was told they’d check with the manager and never heard a word. So much for platinum premium for life. On the plus side, the staff is always friendly and the room was clean.
I went to table south, not only ready to eat, but also to speak to someone about having a small gathering at the location. The bartender was so accommodating and kind and helpful. however, as she referred me to her manager.....with the long brown hair...it was a different story. She was dismissive of my husband and I from the moment we walked up to the desk. Her tone was curt and she looked as though we were bothering her. I have been to table south before and had previously had positive experiences.....this was the opposite. Good, polite customer service is a must....no one should feel dismissed. It's a shame to have such a nice esthetic marred by apathetic service.I hope no one else that goes there experiences what we felt.Obviously we took our business elsewhere.
