Food was just ok. Extremely noisy restaurant. Very hard to have a conversation without talking very loud.

My favorite favorite place!!! I moved to New York and whenever I’m down in Durham I make sure to visit because I’m always craving their delicious food; portion sizes are great for the price too. Service is a bit slow, I wish they would hire more people. Either way, they can do me no wrong.

As Californians who fell in love with the siete mares soup at Ocha Thai back home, we’ve been on the hunt for a comparable one since 2021. We finally found it at ThaiAngle Restaurant! Their Po Tak soup, served in the traditional hot pot (just like the photo), blew us away. If you miss Ocha’s seafood lemongrass soup, you must try this. My husband is thrilled! We also enjoyed chicken satay, pad thai, fried rice, and the puff crab, which had an amazing curry cream cheese filling. The Thai tea was delicious as well. The staff was super friendly, and service was impressively quick for fresh-made food. If you’re from California or just love amazing Thai cuisine, this place is a gem. Five stars!

Food was very delicious. Drunken noodles were amazing and the Thai ice tea cocktail was yummy, not too boozy. They are definitely understaffed and we had to wait quite a while to put our order in.

As a Duke student, I’m extremely disappointed with both the food quality and customer service at Thaiangle.
I ordered the Crispy Duck for $25, which came with about 6 pieces. Only 2 pieces were normal—the other 4 were almost entirely duck neck, bones, and fat with barely any edible meat. When I politely pointed this out to the server, he took my plate and said he’d “check and get back to me.” We finished our meal and waited over 20 minutes. No one came back. When I finally asked again about the issue, his only response was: “There’s nothing we can do. It’s by chance.”
This is completely unacceptable. If there’s a “chance” I’ll get a $25 plate of bones and scraps, I should be warned when ordering. A restaurant’s basic responsibility is quality control and consistency, not making customers gamble on whether they’ll actually get food. What’s worse is their attitude—taking my plate, making me wait 20+ minutes, then offering zero resolution or apology shows total disrespect for customers.
I’m not upset about one bad dish. I’m upset that they clearly don’t care about making things right. The “it’s by chance” excuse is insulting for any restaurant claiming to serve quality food.
Save your money and go anywhere else. There are plenty of great Thai restaurants in Durham that actually value their customers. Thaiangle is not one of them. I will not be returning.

There’s a parking lot right across the street from the restaurant with plenty of parking. The service was attentive and friendly. The green curry was one of the best we have tasted.
