Atmosphere is nice in a sense. Judge for yourself. The issue on top of everything is definitely the outside bartender. She was light skinned with loose wave bundles the night of attendance. She mentioned that she was to catch a flight the next morning at 6 am to patrons that she knew. Maybe thats the reason for her to change prices and pocket funds for different persons that ordered drinks. How do I know that this happened you may ask.? Well with my eyes š I visually seen her do this. Its hard enough supporting black African American businesses but this is exactly why politically the community has a hard time making a difference. The attitude that she presented maybe from the need of sleep or whatever it really doesn't matter. This is a service establishment and if people dont come YOU dont get paid.ā°ļø āļø. But I dont and Im sure anybody for the matter would rather not go to a business thats basically stealing money from you in your face for the sake of a good time. Last, it would be beneficial for all staff to be on the same page of communication with rules of can and can not. Now I do agree with another review I seen regarding to entry cover charge. At most if it needs to be 5 is the top that needs to be charged.

They crank volume too loud to enjoy the music, drinks, and company :( :( Overall unsatisfactory atmosphere as a result. If the music would be down at a decent volume, itād be worth a shot.

This place wasn't my kind of vibe. The bartender was attentive but the drinks we had tasted like Kool-aid. The music was nice, but the place just had a low-budget demeanor to it. I am not sure I will come back, but never say never. They have karoake so maybe one day I will give that a shot.

I originally gave them 5 stars because I loved this place and always had great time, but that all changed after my recent visit. 1. Staff at the front entrance and cashiers were rude, ghetto and condescending. 2. They charge $10 per person if arrived before 10pm. $20 after 10pm on Saturdays. We arrived at 10:02 and they refused to make an exception even though the place was empty. I definitely will NOT be returning!

Took forever to get our food and drinks, the jello shots are good, the fried fish is nothing special, didn't have much seasoning. Overall I really like the atmosphere

Am amazing space for food and live music and performances! Poetry After Dark puts on an electrifying open mic on Sundays.

Came here on a week night for a birthday and absolutely loved it!! The food, drinks, environment, service, and music was all fire. Thursday night they have a special menu with affordable drink and food options. Entry was $5. We did get there early as I heard it gets pretty crowded on Thursdays. We arrived around 8:15pm to get a good table and head start on beating the crowd, it was the perfect arrival time. Thereās seating indoors and outdoors. There is more space outback. Indoors, thereās a huge dance floor. We loved the music. It was a mixture of old and new music. We loved the $5 menu. The wings were our favorite. Pasta was good too. I love how they have quality liquors on that menu. I ordered a bucket šŖ£ called we outside. It tasted like fruit punch. Could barely taste the alcohol but I felt great. I had to leave around midnight and there was a long line of people waiting outside. I did not want to leave as it was a great time but had responsibilities. Anyways would recommend and return! Recommend checking them out on a Thursday!!

As a previous patron of the Pickleback Original I was very disappointed in my first visit to the Pickleback 2. There was a $20 cover which was already steep for this type of venue. Iāve never been charged a $20 cover for a dive bar before. There werenāt many people when we arrived but it was my friendās birthday and I wanted to make sure we made the night special. We got drinks and the servers were nice.
The issue began when another member of our party arrived for the birthday celebration just to be denied entry to the venue. Not because they were under the legal drinking age but because they were under the age of 30⦠for men. Had he been female he would have been allowed entry because the age limit for women is 25. My friend and I asked the bouncers and manager to make an exception because he had driven over an hour to come and celebrate our friendās birthday. He was more than willing to pay the cover fee and buy drinks as he is of legal drinking age. I have to say I find this practice discriminatory and quite frankly predatory. The owner seems to prefer the female patrons to be on the younger side to appease their aging male clientele.
The music was good, the Mac and cheese was good and the servers were nice but not at all worth a $20 cover.

Purchased a ticket to see the Floacist and she canceled but I still came out to the bar. Got there early to get a table had ordered my drink and food..about 20 minutes later an announcement is made that if you have tickets to show please get up and get in line to get tickets scanned. At this point the line is out the door and Iām waiting on my food. Then they start coming to the tables asking if you have VIP tickets and if no then you need to leave the table. Iām so pissed off at how unprofessional and unorganized this event was at this bar. You try to support small business and this is the way it ends up. A waste of my money and my time.
Today, 3-29-25, we went to Pickleback to celebrate my friendās successful dissertation presentation and graduation for her docterate. I was unable to go in because my birthday is a month away, for me to be finally 30. I have been to Pickleback 2 and have had no issues going in for years until today. I was unable to go in after showing my ID. I was unable to celebrate with my friends and about celebrating her doctorate. No where on the website that we bought our online ticket for entry for did it say you have to be 30+ to enter. I have already reported the purchase as fraud and my bank refunded me the entry to this bar. Would not recommend due to the unprofessionalism and false advertising. Spend your money elsewhere since the ticket was $20 without warning about age restrictions. I just wanted their delicious wings and some quality time with friends.

Today, just before 5, I went out of my way to come to your bar & restaurant on a recommendation from my best friend. She raved about your smoked wings so I thought Iād give them a try. I was excited and decided to also order some salmon bites, crabby bites and a fish platter with sweet potato fries.
My entire order, all $59. 29 (before the tip I gave the lady that took my to go order because she was so patient and informative), was messed up. I got 4 things and not one was correct. The fish platter I ordered was, I guess, turned into a seafood platter, because it had only 1 piece of fish and about 4 shrimp with no coleslaw and the sweet potato fries were put in the container with the wingsā¦and they were soggy with no brown sugar as described by the young lady that took my order. The crabby bites and salmon bites were almost indistinguishable from each other in taste and one of them, Iām not sure which, didnāt have the dipping sauce that was supposed to come with them. Both were quite salty and one looked like it had been fried in old cooking oil. The wings were tender, fall off the bone tender. That was the one highlight.
I donāt think I have been more disappointed in a meal. I wanted so much to enjoy the food.
I did not ask for a refund but when people place an order with your place of business, at least get the order right. Taste is subjective and if someone doesnāt like something, that just may be preference but when there isnāt even enough care to do the order right, thatās a real problem.
