We have frequented 309 Bistro many times for dinner and lunch. I'd have to say that this is one of our favorite restaurants in Edenton. My last visit was for lunch and I had the most delicious quiche with a side salad. Service was a bit slow, but they were quite busy and I was with good company, so it really didn't matter. My only complaint is that it can be quite difficult to carry on a conversation because of the noise level. I believe they added the tapestries on the walls to help with this, but it's not quite enough. Great food though!!Update from recent visit. Our server was wonderful. We enjoyed being able to sit outside. The bibb salad with their poppy seed dressing is very good, but quite sparse for $7. The grilled chicken sandwich was good.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at 309 Bistro and Spirits in Edenton, NC, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Let's start with the truffle fries - a first-time indulgence for me. Priced at $11, these fries were a delightful blend of crispy perfection, enhanced by the rich aroma of truffle oil, the savory bite of parmesan cheese, and the refreshing touch of fresh cilantro. Each bite was a symphony of flavors that left me craving more.Moving on to the main course, I opted for the Atlantic Salmon, priced at $28. The pan-fried salmon was cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior that gave way to tender, flaky flesh. The sweet chili cilantro cream sauce added a tantalizing kick, perfectly complementing the delicate flavor of the fish. And let's not forget the sides - the baked potato and Brussels sprouts casserole were the ideal accompaniments, each adding its own unique twist to the meal.As for dessert, the homemade chocolate budino cake was the perfect ending to an exquisite meal. Rich, decadent, and oh-so-satisfying, it was the ultimate indulgence for my sweet tooth. But it wasn't just the food that impressed me at 309 Bistro and Spirits. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who made sure every detail was perfect. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and well taken care of.And let's talk about the ambiance - cozy yet elegant, with dim lighting and tasteful decor that set the stage for a memorable dining experience. Whether you're looking for a romantic evening out or a special occasion with friends and family, 309 Bistro and Spirits is the perfect choice. I can't wait to return and explore more of their exquisite menu.

Salmon, corn beef sandwich, special me, it was roast beef and gravey bed potatoe. It melted in your mouth. I t was delicious. Children had grilled cheese. But had to ask she never asked if wanted right away. Did fill are ice teas. My son wanted shrimp coreol was told not ready till 6:30. Put are order in at 5:45 did not get until 6:30. Thr only thing that I couldn't understand why 1 waitress was un back curly her eyebrows, putting on mascara. Place opens up at 5. Should of been ready for work. And that late, putting in order at 5:45 shrimp coreol should of been ready. But left a good tip anyway.

Nice place, food was delicious but serving size was small.I was overcharged on the Mexican Bay Breeze salad. Menu shows salad comes with marinated chicken or shrimp, and I was charged extra for shrimp. Server didn't know or care.Salad was good but not $18 good.

We were here in NC on vacation to see family for the holiday. We looked up places in the to eat lunch in this area of Edenton. First, let me start this off by saying I was in the restaurant business for over 20 years. I was a server, bartender, hostess, manager, cook, etc. I've worked everywhere from chain restaurants like Chilis & Hardrock Cafe to upscale Las Vegas restaurants. It is safe to say anytime I eat out I notice every single thing from the time I walk in the door until I leave. I found 309 Bistro and the reviews mostly all looked good so we decided to try it. We walked in and was greeted by the hostess who asked “How many” that was the first words out of her mouth. Very very nice young lady. She told us there would be a wait about 10-20 min. We decided to wait. That wasn’t long at all. While we waited for our table over the next 20 minutes I had a front row seat at the hostess stand. It was busy and I noticed the hostess running around cleaning tables, getting silverware, cashing guests out, and seating people. This whole time watching that, guests were walking in the door waiting to be greeted. The front area was full of guests that stood there for at least 5-7 minutes before being acknowledged by anyone and when they were acknowledged it wasn’t a “hi” or “how are you” they were greeted with “how many” I was taught that you acknowledge every single person with a smile, hi or I’ll be right with you in the first few seconds of them entering the restaurant. That’s the way it should be. We were then sat at our table as a four top. There were two tables sat right after us that were both two tops. We watched the two servers that were working walk up to the two tables that sat after us to greet them and all that. We then continued to sit there not acknowledged by anyone at all for at least 10 minutes before we finally stopped a server and asked for menus. She then brought us two menus, we needed to ask for two more menus. Then she walked away. A few minutes later when we noticed no one was going to greet us, we stopped her again. She proceeded to say “oh, no one came over yet, well I’m going to steal this table then, what can I get you to drink” We ordered our drinks and she forgot my grandsons water, she asked “what was his drink again” she brought the water over and then asked if wet all set to order. We were ready and did go ahead and order. My mom also ordered a salad with her meal to come out before her meal like an appetizer. We waited and waited, it never came. The server then brought our food to our table and then brought my moms salad over. At that point my mom told her she no longer wanted the salad but thank you. My mom and daughter ordered fish and chips, they said it was very good, other than the coleslaw. I ordered a salad as my meal with a sweet onion vinaigrette. The salad was good, the dressing had no flavor. We were almost done when the server came over and asked if we wanted refills on our drinks. My daughter asked for another sweet tea. She never got it, in fact we had to ask for it to go at the end when we asked for the check. Everyone there was very nice but there is clearly a lack of something happening there. Please please please, get that staff together and make guests experiences more impressive than this.

We had family visiting for Christmas and chose 309 for dinner Dec 27th for dinner. Terrible choice, our waitress was clearly in a hurry to get us out asap even though there were only 3 tables with patrons. She took our order only to come back 5 min later to tell us the restaurant was out of what 2 selections we ordered and by the way we also don't have XYOr Z. Oh and we don't have any bread because we just opened up after Christmas and the bread went stale.Really ! So she brought us package crackers, which were stale. Just a bad experience.

Best creole shrimp and grits I've had in a long time! It had the perfect kick of spice and the consistency of the sauce was great. I was nervous at first about the grit cakes because I haven't had the best experience with them in the past, but these were pretty good. I was going to try the steak but maybe next time. I'll definitely be back again.
