First time visit today was yummo! Typically I’m not a fan of rice from Mexican restaurants but I tell you, every morsel of food was packed with flavor. We sat at the bar, the guy that served us was on it. Decor could use a facelift but that isn’t what we went there for and they did not disappoint! Going back next weekend for my birthday!

The worst experience I've ever had. My coworkers and I stopped here for dinner. We ordered the cheese dip first which wasn't warm at all. I told our server and she said I don't know what to tell you but I can warm it up in the microwave. I'm like okay. The food comes out and in my coworkers salad is a fruit fly in the sour cream. I told the server and her response was there's fruit flys in every restaurant I hate to tell you. She didn't offer to replace it. We are leaving and she brings the checks. We give our cards to pay and one of my coworkers go outside to the car to get a cash tip. The server comes out behind us yelling not to come back because her exact words were, do not ever come back here again because I busted my ass for you guys and you didn't even tip!!! She didn't even give us a chance. Trust me you will never get out business again. I promise you that.

I highly recommend the Nachos Marino! (seafood nachos) Generous amount of shrimp, large pieces of crab & scallops. Absolutely delicious!!!

First time going and wasn't sure what to expect. When we arrived we were quickly seated and given menus. Waiter got our drinks and our order though with some length in between because we didn't know what we wanted. I ordered the grilled chicken salad and guacamole fresco. My girlfriend ordered the philly steak burrito and cheese sauce. My salad was overall good but underwhelming. I feel there wasn't enough lettuce and too many bell peppers. I'm not a bell pepper fan so that bit may be subjective. The guacamole fresco was severely lacking. It had no chunkyness to it whatsoever. It was essentially a puree with the typical jalapeno, onion, pico etc. For 6.50 I wasn't impressed at all and after 2 chips I put it to the side and considered it a loss. I didn't consider the flavor to be noteworthy either. My girlfriend's food was the philly steak burrito w/rice and refried beans. The burritos themselves were phenomenal! Flavor on point with good size pieces of steak and filling of onions, cheese sauce etc I didn't get to taste her rice so no comment on the rice. The refried beans I wasn't a fan of. I could place it but I tasted sort of a minty taste. Overall the beans were fine but I probably would opt for a different side dish instead. Our overall time there was good and prices were very reasonable. I'd definitely come back for another meal just without the guacamole sadly as I'm a huge fan of good guacamole.

La Mesa Mexican is a fantastic addition to Edenton's limited dining scene! Our group of four had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner last night. The food was excellent, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was vibrant. Even the leftovers held up well. Finding a quality restaurant open on Sundays in Edenton can be challenging, so we were especially happy to discover La Mesa Mexican. Highly recommend!
