We were visiting from Virginia Beach and found this gem of a restaurant. The food was amazing! Great home cooked food. The service was out of this world. The cabbage, the Mac and cheese and fried smothered pork chops were the best. Make sure you stop and eat here. You will not regret it. I would give it a 10 stars if I could.
An interesting little place! Felt like a homemade, southern and quintessential Hertford experience. The staff couldn’t have been nicer, we really enjoyed them. It’s a very small establishment, and it was busy the whole time we were there. I am really hoping the owners can see the need for a place like this in downtown Hertford and expand the seating! Me and a couple of friends stopped in here one afternoon. Most everything was closing up early due to a Christmas event starting soon. We were limited at what we could order, because the person (I think the owner) was by himself. He was very nice and explained what options we could choose from. The sandwiches were decent, but the slice of cheesecake was well worth the stop here. It was quite yummy, fairly priced and a very large portion.
